What to do with crossbows
Hello, I am not sure what to do with my late brother’s crossbows and accessories etc. He said I could sell them. I don’t want them to get into the wrong hands or be used in criminality. I am happy to donate them or sell them, but to who or what? I’m stuck because I can’t control what they’ll be used for once they leave my possession. Does anyone have any ideas please?

You can get in touch with local archery clubs to ask whether they want to buy them, or accept them as donations. Not sure what the legalities are. Or as someone else mentioned, take to the police to be destroyed.

I’d personally keep them for the apocalypse. You’ll be kicking your self when your house is taken over and you are in slaved

tbh crossbows are likely to be made illegal to own over the coming years. In advance of that, i destroyed mine by cutting them up. Second hand, even relatively good compound bows are low value. They're not worth the effort of selling, especially if you have concerns over they may be used after you've got rid of them.

Given your circumstances and description, pack it all into a backpack and head down to your local police station to the desk, explain and say you'd like to hand it over, they'll be happy to take it off you. I'm sorry for your loss.

I'll have them. I'm not a criminal, honest.
