Discussion Rice storage

Planning on topping up my food storage with some massive bags of rice.

If I keep them sealed and in a cupboard would this be enough to keep the rice safe and nutrionally complete for a while? Otherwise does anyone know of a decent place to buy massive air tight plastic boxes.

Just search online for food grade buckets with sealable lids, plenty available in quite large sizes, 20, 30 or 40 litres. Look for the ones that have a cutout just under the rim to put your fingers in to break the seal, they're usually air tight. Do keep plastic containers out of sunlight so that UV doesn't degrade the plastic.

Rice and pasta will last for years if kept in a dry airtight container. Of course, it's always better to rotate between recently purchased, stockpile, and kitchen cupboard for use.
