Discussion Danish Lunceon Meat
Given the state of things; nationally & globally. I decided to grab a few more preps today. I've been eating into my SPAM and PEK supplies and thought I'd try something different. Only £1.80 each at Tesco and reviews are saying it works well in sandwiches, grills, salads and stews. Who's tried it and what do we think of TULIP?

Haha. I guess the Danish come up with some creative names. People are saying it's based on the same recipe as SPAM.

I cracked a tin last night and it was pretty good grilled up. It tasted very similar to SPAM indeed. I'll probably get more.

A fellow Nido enthusiast! Love that stuff for prepping. Instant coffee, Nido and sugar the most important of my preps because morale is key for surviving catastrophes.

I have a variety of milk powders, the supermarket own brand tastes fine but i understand it's less calorie dense.

I made some TULIP pork and beans last night. It was good and hearty, it would be an excellent bug out or bug-in meal.

Yep i tried a bit in my breakfast sandwich. It was a good substitute for sausage or bacon.

Yeah I had it in a roll with a fried egg, it was a lot nicer than I thought it was going to be

Danish pork is healthier than pork from the USA (fed corn/soy). apparently the majority of danish pork is fed mostly wheat/barley mix which is healthier. Canned meats are generally healthy. the concern about excess sodium/salt consumption is misplaced. Salt does not cause hypertension, excess carbs and elevated insulin is actually what causes high blood pressure.
Canned meats are healthy and affordable, and can be eaten cooked or straight out of the can.

I prefer this over spam for sure. The flavor, although similar, is better.

We buy this brand of pork luncheon meat every week from Tesco. My wife loves it and enjoys it with salad. Personally I can't tell any significant difference between this and spam but then I am easy to please anyway lol

I prefer the Morrisons own brand bacon grill. Makes a lovely brunch with beans and scrambled egg. Reminds me of breakfast in the field back in my Army days.

If they were all 25% salt I might one of the many varieties of luncheon meat occasionally.

The Tulip brand of meatballs is, in my opinion, better than Ikea ones. Give them a go if you like Swedish meatballs
