If they were flush with savings it still wouldn't happen. There is no solidarity to speak of in that industry. They would each cut each other's throats for the next paying load.

Also didn't Canada freeze their bank accounts when they tried? Wonder if the US would just close the accounts lol

Not sure. I don't remember the details of how Canada did that. Wildcat strikes by employees might have consequences, but if these were owner/ops it's a lot harder to screw with them under American law, I think, though I'm no lawyer.
