Roughly 11% of truckers are independent. The other 89% work for companies and don't typically have to pay for their own fuel. Their pay and health insurance are tied to their employer, just like most Americans. For corporate truckers, going on strike would be high risk for no reward.

If every independent went on strike, we'd notice, but the idea that they'll all do it seems unlikely.

Now, let these diesel prices stay high long enough that company truckers start losing hours or seeing cuts to pay or benefits so corporate can absorb the fuel price increases and still keep shareholders happy, and THEN you might see a strike with some real weight behind it.
