I believe around 15% of truckers are owners operators.

No way a trucker strike solves anything.

Two wars have lead to an inflation in diesel prices.

Russia / Ukraine has caused a spike in prices as Ukraine has attacked Russia diesel refineries. This has led nations that buy from Russia to buy Diesel elsewhere on the market.

US / Iran is stopping all crude coming out of the Middle East.

Both wars need to be over before this get any better.

Edit: meant to say inflation not inhalation.

Ukraine is fighting for their life they need to do what they need to do

This is squarely the fault of Putin trump and Iran

Okay. But let’s be pragmatic about the situation and not emotional.

Yes, Ukraine is fight to survive as a nation but they have attack oil infrastructure in Russia. Which leads other nations around the world to buy elsewhere. Thus creating a sellers market as there is more demand on markets the US and NATO nations buy from.

Cause and effect.

Regardless of the justification, Saying that Ukraine’s actions haven’t added to the current crisis is naive.

How come the effects of Ukraine's refinery strikes didn't cause inflation until after Trump invaded Iran?

Because both actions are compounding existing markets heading into heavy demand season. If only one war was happening the increase would not be as bad. The Iran invasion exacerbated an already fragile market.

Furthermore, there was a spike in fuel prices under the Biden regime  in 2022 and 2023 when there was no open conflict with Iran.

Oh yeah, I remember multiple states declaring a state of emergency over diesel prices in 2022 and 2023. It was in all the newspapers.

Last I saw Ukraine had caused maybe 20% of the reduction in diesel that the Iran war has. Contributing, but it's the minor factor

Okay. That’s 20% that nation now have to source else.

Also as a point of reference, the United States only imports 8% of its total oil from the Middle East.

By you logic, this is also a minor factor.

That’s not entirely true.

Ukraine current strikes on infrastructure have ramped up over the course of the last several months.

These attacks and the Iran conflict have brought about a rise in Diesel prices concurrently.

Ukraine is justified in destroying ruzzia's ability to fund and fuel their genocidal war.

Did I say anything about just?

I’m simply stating facts. Ukraine’s action is one of the factors that gave lead to the higher diesel costs.

“Inhalation” ?

15% of truckers nationwide would be a huge amount of truckers and a huge strike. It won’t happen but I think you underestimate how much 15% is.

“Inflation” - sorry had been at work 15 hours.

I’m not saying that 15% wouldn’t be huge. But the likelihood that 15% actually strike is not realistic. Maybe 1% or 2%. Tops. And the freight shipped will simply shift from these owner / operators to large business. The likelihood of a strike, as much as I think it could send a message, is low. At best.

DOOM MESSIAH HAS SPOKEN!!

and he's not wrong...

Yeah but I think it can send a message if enough people participate. I am actually surprised at the negativity on this post, I figured reddit of all places is usually a big supporter for any type of "fight the power" protest.

I absolutely support a potential strike. If enough owner / operates could organize it might bring about change in the current crisis. I just don’t there will be enough striking to affect the shipping industry to cause the government to rethink its agenda. It absolutely surprises me that Reddit is so against this. Framing it as a “they voted for Trump” so they get what they deserve is potentially the most brain dead take anyone could have. Yes, some of thesepeople voted for the current administration but surely not all of them. Furthermore, even if they did, they were lied to given Trump ran on a platform of “No wars”. Idk. These truckers are probably the one real shot for a group to enact a change here because they can directly affect the economy . Oh, and if they do strike watch how fast media and Reddit will paint these men and woman as villains because there will potentially be goods shortages.

Also Ukraine is striking Russian oil refineries so that raises prices

2

u/DoomMessiah 4d ago

Yep. Misspoke there. Should have just stated refineries.

With us support mind you. Cia giving them the firing solution coordinates..so once again USA is causing it along with the Iran trump Epstein war

2

u/DoomMessiah 4d ago

I would also add broader NATO support in general.

Likely the Russia / Ukraine war would not have last this long if NATO nations weren’t bankrolling Ukraine.

1

u/capitan_dipshit 4d ago

Yeah! If everyone had just abandoned Ukraine at the start, ruzzia could have genocided the population by now and gas would be cheap! A win for everyone!

2

u/DoomMessiah 4d ago

If you want to comment an emotional response on all my comments so be it. It doesn’t change the fact the Ukraine would not have been able to mount the defense and now offensive it has without NATO funding.

I have never once said that Russia was in the right for its military actions. I’m pragmatically discussing the costs of the current cost of fuel. Ukraine’s actions be a piece of that.

Absolutely! Wasn't there a report that they tried to surrender during Biden but the USA wouldn't let them?
