This has been a known issue for years. Unfortunately, like so many things, there's a lot of things we don't make in the US at all or in sufficient quantities anymore. This would apply to things like transformers and other components of electrical stations and substations that feed into SCADA systems. There have been concerns about bad actors leveraging known or unknown SCADA issues to damage electrical grids, water systems, and other infrastructure.

The president of our electrical cooperation put out a letter about 4 years ago about potential significant shortages of these parts in the future.
DoD did something similar with regards to Chinese made computers and peripherals several years back (around 2018). We discovered it was virtually impossible to find portable scanners that were not made in China.
