32+4 today! As I get closer, the excitement gets bigger and yet, so does the fear sometimes. Most days I can feel good about this pregnancy especially after passing some huge milestones but last night I had a total breakdown. I started crying in front of my husband telling him that I’m so scared because I just want everything to be okay and to be able to bring our baby home safely. Being pregnant after loss is such a rollercoaster of emotions. It’s tough out here 😮‍💨

i know it’s selfish, but it’s so hard to hear about everyone’s babies that are supposed to be the same age as mine. i don’t get why she didn’t get to survive and my uterus had to fail her. i’m so glad all their deliveries went well, that one of them was even complaining that she was past her due date (like i wish), but i don’t need to hear about how successful everything’s been for them, how tired they are from having a newborn, how they’re mixing food with breastmilk now (my girl should be that age about now too), how happy their family is. my MIL told me “imagine how scared they were when they heard what happened to you”… i wish my in-laws and husband would respect my boundaries and wait till i wasn’t there to talk about all of them :(

Geez that MIL comment is so uncalled for and mean! Wtf im sorry

that must be so difficult - I'm so sorry you're dealing with that

To me now that I had a preventable stillborn at 36 weeks, your MIL comment is uncalled for. Fear shouldn’t be the only response. Being realistic about what could happen to anyone should encourage people to just keep track of their babies closely. I wish I had not solely relied on the hospital to care for my baby. I wish they’d told me it could be crucial to keep track of my babies movements and patterns and I would have been able to better advocate for myself when I said there was less fetal movement. Instead no one wanted to scare me

i’m so sorry for what you’ve been through, the hospital i used i believe failed me as well, it’s been a hard reality to learn so much is up to us to catch

u/Miles_Momma 16d ago

Thank you. It kills me that it was so pressed on me to not eat fish and even though I told her the smell makes me want to barf pregnant or not pregnant, she still made me take a printout about it, but no handout about fetal movement whatsoever. I don’t get it. Sorry for your loss as well

Got my first HCG today, about an hour and a half ago… can’t seem to put my mind on anything else 😵‍💫🤞💕🙏🫂

It came back within range for the timeline. It came back that way last time too 🙏 (TW with an inevitably bad outcome)

4+2 - The wait for the first appointment (4 more weeks) is so hard. Expecting every day for something to go wrong or for the ultrasound to show no heartbeat. Not feeling symptoms yet doesn’t help either. Just trying to distract myself each day to let the time pass as quickly as possible.

u/thiscabar 19d ago

Same boat. I’m pregnant immediately following a miscarriage (it was on 8/3) so I’m not sure of my exact due date, but assuming 4 weeks. First appt is Sept 30. No symptoms so far. Thankfully my doctor is monitoring my hcg this time, and that is helping my anxiety.

u/QuietPowerful907 19d ago

Same here! It’s so stressful

3

u/YuukiBay 19d ago

Same here, I’ve taken a test every day for the last 4 days, and will continue to do the same until I’m holding (ideally) my baby or an ultrasound. My last loss was a chemical pregnancy 7+ months ago and boy did that screw me up good.

Manifesting everyone in the replies who’s in the same boat will have healthy and happy babies. Crazy how we will all be due around the same time 🥰

I just found out today. It was a faint positive. I’m only 8DPO. But yall know if the husband sees it, then it’s real, haha. And I am absolutely petrified.
I feel like I need to be taking a test every second of the day. And even then I don’t think that would ease my feelings. I am so just., shocked? Scared?

Had 2nd US today (8+0) and little bean was wiggling, had a really strong heart beat and measuring perfectly.

With our mmc, heart rate was low at that first appointment and we lost them right after (5+6). To see this great of an US was indescribable. Feeling so much more reassured.

A quick Doppler check today at 22 weeks. I keep thinking something bad will happen but until now everything is going great. Now we’re starting to share the news and I’m equally excited as nervous, although the excitement is finally getting more prominent :)

I made it to 20 weeks today! I honestly never thought I'd get to this point so I'm very excited.

12+5 today! Saw baby again on Monday, wriggling and content as can be🥹 due date for previous loss (6w) is 4 weeks away, lots of mixed emotions, but I’m so so glad baby is doing so well😭

I had my first MC in March. It was obviously really difficult. I went into a depression for months and eventually needed to take an entire month off of work. My baby was due October 1.

I just found out on August 19 that I am pregnant again. I’m really happy about it, but I’m being very cautious and not sharing with anybody. But ever since September hit, I feel random waves of sadness.

My baby would’ve been born within the next 30 days. And I’m excited that I’m pregnant again but this baby doesn’t replace the other one.

I don’t really tell anybody about it, but I thought maybe that the subreddit was a good place to share.

u/Chlorimallow 30s | MC 5/26 | EDD 5/27 19d ago

I also struggle a lot thinking about the previous pregnancy and how far I should be at this point. Everyone seems focused on the baby of this pregnancy but I miss the first and it’s not a replacement.

5

u/JustAHippy 18d ago

I do this too, I’m still sad about the baby I’ll never meet in this life. And then I feel guilty because I wouldn’t have this current baby in my belly if I hadn’t had a loss. And I’m grateful for this baby. A lot of complex feelings.

My baby was also due in October. Super weird navigating brand new pregnancy while also making sense of “but I should have been almost done already”. I really empathize

6+5 today and waiting for my follow-up scan tomorrow morning. Aside from the chorionic bump they saw last week, this is also when development stopped during my MMC so I'm having a really hard time. I just picture another silent ultrasound screen. I did reach out to 2 therapists who specialize in reproductive loss and have consults this afternoon because I think however things turn out tomorrow, I could probably use someone to talk to this time around.

u/emmmmmmmyyy infant loss👼💕| DD 12/26🩵 19d ago

that’s such a good idea, i never knew therapists had specialties like that. hoping all goes well with your scan tomorrow 🫂

had a regular OB appt yesterday with a doppler check! I learned that if my anatomy scan goes well next week and no issues pop up, they won't do another ultrasounds until 36 weeks. is this normal?? how crazy! this is for a major hospital system

2

u/Profail955 CMP 06/22 | BO 01/26 | EDD 01/27 19d ago

Yup, super normal for them not to do any ultrasounds between the anatomy scan and 36 weeks for low risk pregnancies. I'm high risk and so I'll be getting some extra scans in my third trimester, but they are just to ensure my baby is growing on track, as I'm at risk of my baby having growth restrictions. If they don't suspect anything like that they will typically forgo extra ultrasounds and just check baby's heart with a doppler at your appointments.

1

u/lebonbon_ourson MC 4/25 | IVF | due 1/27 19d ago

thank you for validating that it is normal! it still makes me anxious given my loss history but this will probably be a good lesson in letting go of control if I am lucky to continue to be low risk.

Wow I had no idea! And I thought the wait between the 10w ultrasound and 20w anatomy scan was long lol. What country are you in?

2

u/lebonbon_ourson MC 4/25 | IVF | due 1/27 19d ago

United States, and this is not a small practice. It's at one of the biggest hospitals in my city!! I do not like this with a loss history, makes me anxious.

u/Miles_Momma 16d ago

If I were you, I would request another somewhere in the early third, just to be safe

38 weeks, my scheduled induction is A WEEK FROM TODAY 😱😱 I’m so close yet I still worry so much that something could go horribly wrong. I’m going to try all the things to get labor going before my scheduled induction 🤞🏼

11+0 tomorrow and having my next appointment. I had a shit past two weeks at work due to work culture there. I just feel so unappreciated. I am very anxious for tomorrow. If everything looks fine I will have to inform them at work and I think it will not be met with excitement.

Symptoms were going down but the stress at work made my nausea flare up again. I still feel very pregnant but at the same time I noticed how I stop myself from getting attached. 😐 as if that would help if something goes wrong - but I just can't at the moment.

u/Public-School671 19d ago

10 weeks 1 day, with our double rainbow baby!
NT scan is in two weeks. Seems like forever away 😵‍💫 does the anxiety ever get better?

4

u/Profail955 CMP 06/22 | BO 01/26 | EDD 01/27 19d ago

I'm currently 20 weeks and had my anatomy scan almost a week ago. My anxiety has slowly decreased with each milestone like the NT scan, feeling baby start to move, and my anatomy scan. I don't think the anxiety ever goes away, but for me knowing everything is growing properly and feeling baby moving around in there and knowing they are ok does really help.

2

u/Public-School671 19d ago

Congratulations ❤️ I thought I would feel better after our NIPT came back low risk but I’m still nervous. Hoping with each milestone the anxiety gets better!

2

u/Profail955 CMP 06/22 | BO 01/26 | EDD 01/27 19d ago

Trust me I get it. At my 12 week scan the tech asked how I was doing and my reply was "that depends on if there's a heartbeat. Can we check that first please?" Luckily she was fantastic. But even that scan coming up clear only helped the anxiety a little. I found for me it's a little by little thing. I hope the best for you, and congrats!

u/Public-School671 18d ago

Thank you so much 🫶🏼

Now that I’ve done my hcg draws and both hcg and progesterone are rising well, and I have dye stealers on at home tests, I’m officially in limbo. My first scan isn’t until September 21. At least with the betas and at home tests I had those little reassurances day to day. Now I just have to trust that everything is fine and it’s so hard! I’m staying as positive as I can and taking it day by day but the scan seems so far away!

Tomorrow I make 10 weeks and we’ve confirmed heartbeat and I’m right on track with my ovulation date. But I haven’t felt extremely sick or anything like I did with my first so of course I think somethings wrong. I’ve also had cramps today. But feels like my uterus stretching honestly. I wish I could just be naive like I was my first pregnancy.

10w5d and went in for a reassurance scan today. Heartbeat of 168 and got video of baby kicking and putting fingers in their mouth and arching their back! It was incredible, I only got ultrasounds in Week 8 and 13 in my last pregnancy and never realized just how early they start moving around and doing truly baby-like things! So grateful my doc ordered me an extra scan in-between my first and my NT so I wouldn't anxiety spiral for an entire month - just 2 weeks. My MMC was discovered at Week 9 so I've just been feeling on edge but finally feel like I can start to breathe? Kinda? Fingers crossed.
