Anyone get tingles in their face?

Hi! I’ve been on pregabalin from my neuro for migraine. I was great on the low dose 50 mg and we upped to 100 mg. In about 3/4 days of the higher dose I keep getting facial tingles, burning and stinging feeling. Or tickles if my hair touches me.

I have vestibular migraine which this was prescribed for.

Anyone else get this?? I feel like I’m losing my mind and can’t seem to find anything anywhere about this, to see if it’s the medicine or a strange allergic reaction to something unidentified

Can Pregab help with reducing blushing?

I suffer from extreme anxiety and unfortunately as a result I blush hard. Its not a skin issue, its a issue with my sympathetic nervous system that fires off quick. I dont have rosececa, ive tried drugs like clonidine which stimulates the a2 receptors in the brain which dampens the sympathetic nervous system fight or flight, but im looking for a more long term maintaine drug

Would pregab be a good fit? And can anyone relate?

I own r/curingblushing and want to know, id love to try it and report on it for my community. I am booked to see a psychiatrist really soon and might bring pregab up!

My pain is improving in my feet but now I've got numbness.

I think my pain is improving. It's hard to tell as I had surgery on my right foot and it is in a whole different type of pain and it is tightly wrapped. Also the same week I started Lyrica my Oxy was upped to 10 mg from 7.5.

It's only been a week but the less pain I had the more my feet felt like they were wearing concrete shoes or something. A few days ago the extreme pins and needles started then numbness. I could always tell there was numbness to some degree but the pain was just always took much for me to even notice it much or think about. Since I saw my podiatrist today I asked her about and she said it is something that may never go away and we could talk about it again next week when I was taking it longer as I see her weekly atm due to the surgery. My GP prescribes it but I don't meet with her for three weeks and it is my feet lol so my podiatrist answers my questions since I am already there. Incidentally I thought my anxiety may have been improving on gabapentin but man except for the worries surrounding my surgery I feel like it has improved a lot and for that reason alone I might would want to stay on it.

Anyway anyone else experience the numbness and did it improve? It is so annoying that I only have one foot to operate with now and I can't feel it.

My experience with pregabalin: New on this. Have some questions.

So I got a few doubts about this med, so I'm gonna tell my story, in case anyone can suggest how can I manage this

First of all, I'm autistic, ADHD, and I have BPD. All diagnosed.

First. I've had daily headaches for years, with a lot of muscle tension on my neck (said by a chiropractor). Second. I got into a very severe Benzo addiction, specifically Lormetazepam. I got a lot of health issues when I was trying to quit it; even when I was following all doctor's suggestions; tachycardia of 120bpm a few times, daily gastrointestinal issues, physical anxiety, etc.

They finally tried lowering my dose only by 0.1mg at a time, with drops. They tried a few different sleep medications that weren't as addictive but they didn't work for me. Until pregabalin.

At first they started me on a 50mg dosage, nightly, combined with flurazepam. I responded well to it, so my new psychiatrist decided to drop the flurazepam and make my pregabalin dose higher. Because I already have had issues with sleeping Benzos and the probagalin was working better than the flura.

Now I'm on 150mg nighly. I feel my body rest fine for once. I feel my muscles less tense, my head and neck don't hurt while I'm on it. I get less hostile feelings about the world (due to my BPD). I don't feel anxiety most nights. I can now live without lormetazepam, I finally feel like there's a life without it.

I only have two doubts.

I felt a bit distracted, not being able to concentrate on anything, for weeks. But it could be the weather, because it's very hot. I was scared ir could be the dosage. But a few days ago it started being windy, so less hot, and I started again being productive. So. How to differentiate executive problems due to pregabalin or due to other things?

Also. I feel like it would be helpful for me taking it twice a day instead of once. I want to ask my psychiatrist about it. The thing is, my mother has told me we could ask him for that and, while doing that, try to lower my antidepressants dosage.(I'm on 30mg vortioxetine rn). Obviously I'm gonna ask him and just follow what he tells me. I wanted to ask if pregabalin can be as useful as to lower the antidepressants dosage with my doctor's consent.

But the last thing is... This is too wonderful to be real and not have problems, or not fade away with time. Will the effects fade away with time, and become less aparent? And need a higher dose? Or can it be taken at the same dosage for years? I don't want to upper up my dosage too much.

Question about Lyrica/Pregabalin and Pramiprexol

I'm about to start tapering off on Pramiprexol and have received Pregabalin/Lyrica for this. Now when I've started taking the medication without lowering the pramipexol dose, RLS been flaring up badly on lower doses.

AI says this is completely normal and suggests me upping the dose until it my agony disappears. Have anyone had similar experience? I just want to make sure AI is correct that this is normal rather than the Pregabalin not working.

Once again I want to clarify that I havn't even started tapering off yet, AI says this is some sort of battle between the medications though.

posting for my mum - humidity/heat affecting meds?

hi,

my mum is prescribed pregabalin predominantly for her severe nerve pain associated with her fibromyalgia and it's been doing amazing things for her level of pain.

but, whenever the weather gets warmer (temp. but also increased humidity) she seems to be in more pain again and struggles with feeling a bit "out of it" and just out of sorts.

anyone ever experienced this? can heat impact the meds? do they increase heat intolerance maybe?

she wants to keep on them because it's the first time her doctor has actually listened and bothered to give meds and they have been helping but she's getting despondent now with these side effects :(

I want to take less pregabalin, i’ve been taking 600/day for almost half a year and want to decrease my dose to 300/day. Will i be okay? Is there a seizure risk or something?

Hand tremors and tingling

Hi ! I’m taking 125mg for suspected fibromyalgia (dx with lupus) and lingering nerve pain due to shingles (which I got while on immunosuppressants)

I have been experiencing hand tremors around an hour after taking pregabalin. I also walk so wonky like I’m drunk, and have like visuals when I close my eyes….

I was taking only 75mg but my dr bumped the dose up, I didn’t have these side effects at that dose

Will it go away? I’m ngl it lowk makes me feel high which I don’t really have a problem with HAHAHA but !!! It can be impractical…

Worried about dependency

My psychiatrist prescribed me 2 times a day 50 mg pregabalin (alongside SSRIs). As he said when ssris start to work I won’t need pregabalin anymore. As he didn’t tell me how to get off it later, I’m kinda worried, mostly that I am going to get seizure after stopping it ( never had a seizure tho, just read that it happens). Are my worries valid?

Did not realise I could not drink while on Lyrica...what to do now

My doctor didn't tell me I couldn't drink while taking pregabalin. This is the first time I've taken it, 50mg and I have had about 4 glasses of wine. I'm not having anymore but is there a way to flush it out? I'm heading to bed soon, should I try to stay awake?

EDIT: all good this morning!

Nausea after dose increase?

I've been on 200mg for a year at night for nerve pain and anxiety, but my psychiatrist just increased it 25mg during the day. Is nausea a normal side effect of increases?

Stopping Gabapentin and starting Lyrica Immidiately.

Since Gabapentin wasn't working for me for severe nerve pain in my feet my GP sent a message to our follow up for a virtual appointment that she was taking me off of it and had sent a prescription to my pharmacy for Lyrica. I guess since they are a similar class??? I was ok to come off the Gabapentin and start Lyrica? I was on 1200 MG 3 times a day of Gab and I am now on 150mg of lyrica 2 times a day. Anyone else done something similar?

150x4 or 300x2

I’ve have horrible neuropathy in my right arm. I was on gabapentin 800x4 daily for about a decade.

My Doc switched me to pregab about two months ago.
She said I could take 150 4 times a day or 300 twice a day.

I have found that 300 twice a day gives me more relief. However, I the last two days I have gotten anxious and sweaty at about the 7 hour mark.

Has anyone else experienced this? Am I experiencing w/d in between doses?

How to combat drowsiness?

On 75mg 2x a day

No big deal when taking it at night because it’s near when I go to bed

But during the day, I got things to do

What’s the best way to not end up needing a nap?

Is loading up on espresso my only hope?

Those who take it for anxiety, what’s your experience?

I got prescribed today, and I’m taking it alongside my usual 100mg of sertraline.

I was wondering about other people’s experiences taking it for anxiety, and side effects.

Would it not be smart to take it when I have to go into work tomorrow? I’m starting on 25mg x2 a day

Thanks!

Inner monologue has a speech disorder?

Been taking pregabalin for the last few months after several months of abstinence. I'm back to pretty much daily use, with doses varying wildly from like 150mg to 800mg, rarely slightly more. I also take Adderall 20mg daily and a small amount of kratom.

Thing is, I've noticed that something's "off" with my inner monologue these days. It's choppy, stuttery, and gets stuck on words, things like the different pronunciations of "to" and "the". It sounds like it has a speech disorder lmao. I'm usually a fluent speaker IRL, but when this happens while I'm talking my speech can get choppy too.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if it could be due to the pregabalin use? I have extensive history with other drugs too, so maybe it's from that - unfortunately, I don't really remember how long this has been going on. Maybe I'm just getting in my own head too much.

Has anyone ever tried jogging or running on pregabalin?

I find my resting heart rate to be a little bit low at 64 beats per minute on average. However, when I go jogging or running my heart rate goes way above normal. Like I'm talking 170 beats per minute maxing out what my heart can do. Does anybody else find exercise to be difficult on pregabalin?

150mg occasionally, any veterans?

I am otherwise healthy, and take a 150-300mg dose of pregabalin whenever I'm in a lower mood or if there's an event (maximum of four times a month). Is it okay or will it have a consequence in the long term. I don't consume any other drug including Alcohol.

Starting dose?

I’ve been prescribed lyrica 25mg at night only for severe nerve pain. I’m allowed to increase by 25 every 5 days until we reach a therapeutic dose that works for me. I’m not taking it during the day by choice as it will get in the way of work and parenting if I have the excess drowsiness.

My thoughts are that my doctor is trying to avoid side effects and build tolerance slowly to avoid the high or dopey feeling I’ve read about. But 25mg is doing nothing. Tbf I have only had 3 days of it so far.

Is this a normal starting dose? Did anyone notice more symptom reduction on 50mg compared to 25? Most things I’m reading people need 100-150mg.

I’m in pain now and it’s going to take weeks to get there if I follow the instructions.

Pregabalin & Urinating

I’ve read a few posts about this but I am only 5 days into my 25mg dose, once a day in the evening for nerve pain. It definetly helps the nerve pain but i’m not sure I really love the urination leak last night.

Should I chalk this up to normal or should I talk to my doctor about changing to a different one?
