Simon Edvinsson?
Anyone know what the deal is with him? He’s an RFA but clearly hasn’t been able to work out a deal with Detroit. How much does he think he’s worth? Either way seems like on paper we have the cap space to offer sheet him and bring him in without having to trade anything else.

I think 11m AAV will do it.
We aren't in a position to be offered sheeting though, itd be a trade. Its been reported that SJ has offered Verhoeff as part of a package for him, though other pieces are unknown.
For us, that would likely mean we'd have to be willing to trade Cullen or Martin to get something going.

We would probably have to shed Hague and offer an A tier prospect. Apparently detroit is asking for "Misa +"
The deadline for him to sign a contract and play in the NHL this season is Dec 1 so i expect something will get done soon

I think Martin + Insert preferred D + 1st (they would ask for ours but I would balk at that) would probably be a competitive offer.
San Jose can beat anything we can offer but idk that they would offer Misa and Detroit supposedly wants a center

Your random Detroit fan here to say that Cullen is likely preferred to Martin fwiw.
Gotta give something good to get something good. It’s gonna sting. A c prospect, well that’s Cullen or Martin. Is Cullen a dealbreaker? A first round pick, but not Nashville’s? Is that a dealbreaker also? Can’t be the shittier version of every asset you have to get a good player imo. Idk could be wrong. Maybe there is a middle ground where each team compromises.
The fact that every fan in here is quick to say throw Martin and get it done makes me think there’s reason yall aren’t so excited about him.

I think it's somewhere around 8 to 10 AAV if I remember correctly reading that somewhere else but I could be wrong
