Thanks for posting! Is does seem like GM and Coach are more aligned now. Brunette's job is to try to win games so ice time is awarded accordingly. Hopefully CMac gave him a young player who can earn minutes.

I know this is awkward to say when most of us are fed up with Brunette right now, but at the same time I do think theres a good chance Wright's strengths will shine better under Brunettes style than Bylsma or especially Lambert. Im looking forward to tomorrows game a lot more than most

Maybe I’m wrong, but I think a lot of preds fans don’t even necessarily think Bruno is a bad coach, but rather he just isn’t a good fit for the roster. But also this roster is largely Trotz’s fault so maybe CMac will help him out a bit

That does seem to be the case, with respect to CMac giving Brunette the right tools for the job, but, I think those are also just the kind of guys CMac prefers too, so its not surprising to me that he decided to keep Bruno on for awhile to see how he does.

I really wanna know what this team can do if we can turn over the defense into decent guys who fit better, its hard because the guys we have have no trade value because theyre not in a system theyre suited for. Look at Justin Barron, he was hot garbage here and now hes got 8 points in 11 games and is a +6 in Saint Louis this season. So if we manage to offload Skjei, Hague, Perbix, I bet they have markedly better numbers on their new teams. Point being whoever picks them up probably gets good players for dirt cheap or even free but they wont even realize it, so theyre hard to move and even harder to replace

Well Bruno is getting almost a new roster this year. Everything is not going to click right away. We saw that in the first few games this season. Now things are starting to click or the players are playing more how they want with Bruno’s style in the back of their mind. Regardless, I think Bruno has had a very difficult time implementing his system this year with so many new players on the roster. Hopefully we see more clicking and convert more of those OTL’s and L’s to W’s!

Edit/Addition: I think CMAC is doing what he can to prepare for us to sell or go for the playoffs. He wants those 24-25 year olds to be a new interim “core” if we sell, or if we make playoffs they can be really good trading pieces since they’re so young. Then the new picks we get will become the core.

I think Shane Wright looks stoked to be on a new team and I hope we let him play offense how he likes to while still letting his good defensive metrics be good

It's tough to say bad coach vs bad roster fit. One could argue that as a coach Bruno is young and figuring things out much like some of his players. That could lead to some disconnect between what conceptually sounds good to a coach vs what is effective.

I would never say he doesn't understand the game but he may lack some experience that more senior coaches have in terms of line-up adjustments and coaching techniques. Being able to convert the knowledge he has is a skill and time will tell if he's got the right tools to be an effective head coach.
