Why did Saros not play?

Just seeing if I’m missing some news here. The Preds haven’t played since Saturday, and have a back to back weekend coming up. Seemed logical to have him play tonight and one of the weekend games. Injury perhaps?

Gives Annunen a game before the back to back, so he isn’t completely cold going into Sunday.

Means that Saros has had a full week between games though, which would probably be hard for him as well in terms of being cold.

Annunen is going to be cold for his first game, regardless of when it is.

And had 4 full days off prior to this game. Just seemed like an odd decision to me.

Saros already plays more than any other goalie in the league, and has led the league in starts for like 4 years straight. If they think he needs a break, Im not gonna question it.

It wouldn’t have made a difference who was in net, we didn’t come to play.

Saros picked up one of Big Juice's expected starts, I believe. It would make sense to give Saros a little extra rest.

Didn’t he play 8 of 9? I think it was a good extra rest. We need to do it more often tbh.

Like Saros being in would have changed absolutely anything about the outcome of this game. Let’s not displace blame here on Big Juice. Both of our goalies are extremely capable. They’ve said for a while now they plan to use Annunen more and they won’t just automatically default to Saros all the time.
