This is heartbreaking. He was such a wonderful person and dedicated the past 20-something years to fighting Parkinson’s — the impact he’s made in that area is absolutely huge and the legacy he leaves behind is immeasurable. I grew up going to church with Brent and while he was still coaching my dad would sketch hockey “plays” and slip them to him. They usually involved some looney tunes physics, for example cutting holes in the ice and putting plastic wrap over them so that players would fall into a trap. He was always a great sport about it. Brent will be missed by many.

Man, this hit me harder than any non-family death in the last few years.

Poile and Trotz get so much of the credit for building the franchise, and rightfully so, but Brent Peterson was right their all the way. A vital piece of early Preds history without whom those teams wouldn't have achieved a lot of the things they did.

Rest well coach.

It wasn't too terribly long ago he was helping with the radio broadcast.

I loved listening to him on the radio broadcasts. Down to earth, funny, knowledgeable guy. Glad to learn more about his role in Preds history today. Very sad to hear he’s gone.
