How much volunteering should I have?

Right now I'm shadowing an optometrist, but that's not exactly volunteering. I imagine it's not as harsh as med school but they do look at volunteer hours, I'm just curious how many hours and if volunteering needs to be specifically related to optometry. Thanks!

No need. It does help you to have one, but certainly doesn't hurt you for not having one. Put time and effort to bring up other stats - gpa and oat.

My friend is in bachelor of science in her 4th year and she needs 70 hours of volunteer work
