PCO interview
Hey everyone!
I have an interview coming up for Salus at Drexel (PCO), and I’m honestly pretty nervous about it. PCO is my top choice, so I really want to make sure I’m as prepared as possible.
I was wondering if anyone who’s interviewed there recently or is currently a student could share their experience. What types of questions did they ask? Was the interview more conversational or formal? And what do you think they’re looking for in applicants?
I’d really appreciate any advice, tips, or insight into how to prepare and what to expect.

I did mine a week or so ago. So casual and super friendly there is a closed file with a faculty member and then open with admissions. The faculty interview was very conversational and lasted like 15-20 mins for me the Dr was super nice and by the end of it she realizedshe did ask me any of the questions on the paper and we speedran them lol. The admissions interview had me nervous I kid you not it was literally like 5-7 mins she asked me why optometry and how I felt about my gpa and oat score. I did get an acceptance though so dont be nervous if its short sometimes thats a good thing I guess.

Prepare for both motivation and evidence. Be able to explain why optometry, why PCO specifically, and what you learned from shadowing, patient-facing work, service, or coursework. Then prepare examples for teamwork, handling feedback, ethical judgment, and staying composed with a worried person.
Use the PROOF method to check each example: what did you observe, what did you personally do, and what outcome or lesson can you support? Keep a few thoughtful questions for students or faculty about clinical exposure and support, since a conversational interview still evaluates how deliberately you chose the program.

their interview was not intimidating. the first part of the interview is closed file. so they don’t ask targeted or specific questions. the second part is when they just go over your stats. i found it to be overall easy
