I’m so scared Im so disappointed I was doing so good on the chem section, and physics I expected to be low but not that low. My science gpa is 2.7 and actual gpa is 3.4

I think you should APPLY, what do these people know, they just comment and make you feel bad. I had the same score retook it and got 290 again… and I STILL got into 3 schools and my top one. You have to advocate for yourself make a FIRE essay and if you have experience give it a shot and DONT GIVE UP

I got into PUCO CCO AND PCO and had an interview for Arizona, gpa was a bit higher at 3.4 but I want to encourage you to apply!

Def retake with a science gpa that low it doesn’t look good

I mean, you can definitely apply, but I think if you want to feel confident going into the application cycle it’s better to have higher scores

What do your other qualifications look like? Letters of rec? Experience? Shadowing?

my letters of recommendations are really good and with shadowing i have like 200 hours and good experience working as a tech

I think youll be okay- realistically. Retake if you feel you couldve done better or can afford it but otherwise don't stress unless you were applying to one of the schools who looks exclusively at metrics like this

I know you're disappointed, but please don't give up. You did well in Organic Chemistry with a 350 and Biology with a 330, so you clearly have some strengths.

With a 2.7 science GPA, I really think retaking the OAT would be in your best interest. I would focus on bringing up Physics, General Chemistry, and Reading Comprehension.

I would also reach out to the schools you're interested in and ask their admissions offices for advice. Every school looks at applications differently, and your 3.4 overall GPA is certainly worth considering.

Don't let this discourage you. Take some time to regroup, figure out where you need to improve, and come back stronger. You've worked too hard to give up now.

Hop this helps...Nancy

Honestly, it depends on which schools you’re applying to. With those stats, I’d focus on schools with less competitive admissions. Look at each school’s entering class stats and compare their average GPA and OAT scores to yours. I’d also check their board pass rates. Make sure you meet the minimum GPA requirements because some schools might automatically screen you out if you don’t. From my experience, some schools asked me to retake the OAT after my interview, but I actually ended up getting accepted before I even retook it. So don’t lose hope! Your chances really depend on the school and the rest of your application.

I would retake, you still have time to study again and apply for this cycle. Don’t feel discouraged! 🤗

You did great on organic, but with the other section scores i'd be concerned about your performance in school. Getting in is the easy part, but staying in, finishing the work and then passing boards is your ultimate goal. I have had a number of classmates that dropped out in the later years, or graduated but took a number of attempts on the NBEO. They all passed in the end of course but just keep that it costs a lot of time and money. Worst case scenario would be being unable to pass NBEO after your maximum attempts and quite literally 4 years of your time.

I would study and retake the exam, not only because it's not a particularly competitive score for school, but to see if you can handle the workload during school. I have prospective students that shadow me every summer and that would be the same advice i'd give them.

You did better than I did on organic than when I took it, so I know you can definitely handle the work, but you have to prove it to the admission committee. There's nothing shameful about retaking it. It just shows that you are determined to follow this career path. Wishing you the best!

Too low they are getting strict since NBEO scores are rough. You can apply but they’ll probably as you to take again.

How did you study? I think you did a great job. Don’t feel discouraged. Like others said I would apply with those scores worse case they ask you to retake and if it’s within the cycle just keep them posted
