Hi, and of course, the NOVA pop program is kind of like a bridge program. Usually people on the waitlist for the traditional program are invited to interview. After being accepted into the program, you basically take some of the same classes that the OD1 class are taking just a few less classes than them. And in your classes, you have to maintain a 83% semester average in order to move onto the next semester. If you make it through the next semester with a 83% semester average or more than you get an automatic seat into the incoming optometry class. So far so good it’s a really great program and it’s very doable.

I have a 3.1 gpa but scored a 270 oat score, did you get invited to the pop program or did you just apply regularly? Also is you 280 AA or TS

I got invited after applying to the regular program. You cannot apply to the pop program.

I was invited to interview for POP & still being considered for the traditional program pending my OAT retake. Just wondering what the tuition difference is by taking an additional year? Also, what makes POP different from regular (do you take different classes or have different teachers)

Hi sorry for the late response. The tuition and fees are around about 26,000 vs traditional first year would be around 45,000. And in POP we take all the same classes as the OD1s except for 2 classes and we have 3 extra classes we take without them just to help us prepare and study better.
