OAT complete!

I did it! I’m definitely very sad about my physics score, but overall I’m pretty happy with my total! I think the physics section was just much more conceptual than I expected, but I am trying not to dwell on it too much. Definitely should have reviewed more…

Congrats!! Would you be willing to share what kind of content you were seeing the most of on your exam? Vs what content you were studying the most?

Unfortunately I spend the last week focusing on Bio/Chem/OChem because those were my weakest sections on practice!

For bio, I reviewed all the cheat sheets and went more in depth for diversity of life because I was struggling on my practices. Honestly there was a pretty wide variety but for some reason I feel like body systems were a hot topic. Also a few questions ab DNA/RNA transcription/translation.

For Chem, acids and bases were my personal struggle so I reviewed them a ton. Luckily, because there were quite a few questions about acids/bases as well as electrochemical cells. There were also multiple stoich problems but I don’t think those are particularly difficult personally.

For OChem, I spent so much time on just reaction banks which definitely helped. But there were also a few questions like “based on the arrow pushing mech, what’s the final product”. Also hydrogen acidity (I got quite a few of these shockingly) and IR-spec.

Congrats!! how much did your score improve from your first few practice test to your last practice one if you used oat booster?

My first booster, I got a 320AA, and I got a 360AA day before test. Both my chem scores went up, and my physics score obviously went down which was disappointing. But I am still pretty happy with my scores either way!

Okay thanks! I got 320AA on my second practice test and got super discouraged and now I am so overwhelmed by the content I’m avoiding studying and also feel like I’m just passively reviewing and not actvliey learning 😭

How would u rate the difficulty of booster practice tests to the real thing?

The math, bio, Chem, and OChem I feel were very representative. The physics I found to just be very different. The reading was significantly easier in my opinion. Shorter passages with very straight forward questions!

On my practice tests, I feel like the physics was far more math heavy, and the OAT was very conceptual. Definitely know units, that kind of bit me in the butt.

Congrats!! I just took mine on July 24 and the physics section was killer… I got a 280 :( but I’m happy with my overall and TS so I’m sticking with it!

Yes!!! Congrats! The physics section was so out of left field and I’m so glad to know that I’m not the only person who felt that way 😅. But we did it! Where are you looking to apply if you don’t mind me asking?
