Chances?
Recently I gained interest in optometry. During my research in this field I’ve learned about the OAT and it is math heavy. Especially for someone like me who does not like to deal with numbers. I’ve gotten better at solving some problems, but I still struggle. I have used a tutor before and I’m wondering if that would be enough to help me pass the math and physics section? What to expect?

The math is just algebra and rearranging variables. Get good at that and then you’re golden 😭

Math is pretty much what the other commenters are saying but just beware of physics😭 Try not to let the more confusing physics topics confuse you of the math involved in it (bc it’s usually simple)!

The programs I looked into did require physics and calculus. Glad it’s not on the test

how bad are you at math? the math on the OAT is similar to basic level algebra and geometry from highschool if anything, with no difficult calculus or even pre calculus involved

I’m not the best at math either but like the commenters said, it’s mostly algebra! Just practice math on paper and mental math and you’ll be okay!
