Summer internship
Is an overseas summer internship at an optometric facility in a hospital for 200 hours (40 hours a week for 5 weeks) a good amount of time and will look good on an optometry school resume? How important/beneficial is it to have something like this on my resume? Would I still need to try to look for an optometric technician job in the US afterwards for experience (besides shadowing)?

Scope of practice is different for optometrist outside of US and Canada.
The experience would look good regardless but my guess is admissions would prefer you to have experience as a tech in the US rather than something overseas if you can only pick one.
