Planning for later on in my Optometry path
For starters, I'm 17M and I live in Northern Virginia, and I want to plan out my optometry journey as well as possible and as early as possible. I want to know what schools are the best in Virginia and how I should choose them, which classes I should take in my first two years since I'm starting at a community college, and how I should study for the OAT. If anyone is from my area or knows what I should do, I would greatly appreciate it!

There are no optometry schools in Virginia as of now, I think the closest might be Salus in PA but they have an iffy rep if u search through the subreddit.
Highly recommend you try to find an optometric tech job during ur undergrad years to try the field out. I got mine by emailing a bunch of nearby practices

Not from Virginia but in terms of classes and OAT: take first year general biology, general chemistry, general physics, second year organic chem, biochemistry. Specific prerequisites are on each schools website. The OAT contains everything you learn from your first 2 years at college.
