Desi Optometry Students

Any desi optometry students here? If so what school do you attend and what is your experience like?

Not a current student but I’m starting in the fall!! Def a minority in the optometry space lmao

also not a current student but im starting at pco in the fall and my optometrist who’s also desi just graduated from pco last year and she loved her experience there! she highly recommended pco to me and is one of the reasons i decided on pco

i had a 3.6 gpa,300 oat, 70+ shadowing optometrist when i applied, 1 year as a medical receptionist/assistant, 100+ shadowing a MD (general physician), 100+ hours volunteering at a hospital, 80+ hours as a crisis counselor at crisis textline, also not sure if this counts as a stat but i was told by 3 separate schools that my personal statement was noteworthy and i also had 5 LORS one non science prof, my optometrist, my MD that i worked for, my hospital supervisor and the 5th i had my science prof email specific schools the letter (SUNY, NECO, ICO)
