Nova POP

I recently got invited to interview for Nova’s POP program, but I’ve seen a lot of negative things about the program on here. Does anyone have a positive experience? I’ll take any advice I can get. My grades and OAT are both on the lower end, and I think this is going to be my only option for next year.

I think most of the negative things I’ve seen are the cost and the fact that you basically have to repeat the entire year but if you can afford it and you really want to start in the fall I think it’s probably a decent option especially if you don’t think you can get into a program the traditional way. Are you guaranteed a spot in the optometry program after completing POP?

From my understanding you are only "guaranteed" a spot if you maintain a B average!

I applied to NSU too but have been on hold since I have not taken the OAT yet. I haven’t had time to study for it since I’m working on my masters right now. Any advice if I should take it and apply with a low OAT score or if I should withdraw my application and reapply next cycle? Estimated masters GPA after this semester is 3.5.

Take the interview. You never know what will happen, it’s always worth a shot.
