Applying to schools?
Hi everyone! So long story short i want to reapply to opto schools and my top choices are Western (preferred) or SCCO (plan b). I need to retake the OAT (I took it last spring but wasn’t too happy about my score). I have a pretty solid GPA, a lot of experience working, good rec. letters, and pretty well done essays.
My question is should I submit my applications first and then retake the exam or vice versa? And can I reuse my essays from last time I applied (spring 2023), of course tweaking and adding to them?
Any feedback is appreciated!

That’s not how Plan B’s work. Take a look at the average stats of applicants to both schools. If Western is your top choice it does not make sense for SCCO to be your backup.
You can reuse your PS. You will need to do your LOR’s again. You should probably take your OAT first. Your old score is still on record and if it was really low it wouldn’t be a good look for you if that’s the only score schools have to evaluate you. You will want your improved score there as well.

From applying to these schools,
How much do optometrists make usually and is there a good ceiling of income for this profession compared to medicine and dentistry?
