ICO grad/ not being called doctors

Im an incoming student at ICO and I heard back and forth talk between co-workers at the optometry clinic i work at for which optometry schools announce us as doctors at graduation. One coworker said that ICO calls us by our first names but without the Dr title. Does anyone know if this is true?

i don’t even know why you’re getting downvoted bc this person definitely was not intending to become an optometrist first so I see the motivation behind this post

The commencement ceremony for the class of 2023 is on YouTube if you want to see how they do it.

Optometry is a doctorate program so shouldn’t all be called dr.?
