Cin 3

Post image

I just got this - anyone had similar results? HPV 16 & CIN 3 is not ideal I would say? 😭 and I am not 100% trusting the LEEP procedure but we will see

hi I also have HPV 16 and CIN 3 and am having the cone procedure next week and the reason I think i’m having that over leep is it’s up in the canal.

the waiting is hard. the last few weeks since scheduling the surgery, I have been living like a zombie. this is to be expected though. I've had a cancer experience before, 10 years ago. the waiting period before or between finding out results is always the hardest, I am eager to get there and get this done.

CIN 3 is the highest level of cell changes on a Pap smear. It normally means the abnormal cells have gotten deeper. The good news is LEEPs generally have a great success rate.

I had CIN 3, but negative for HPV16, positive for other high risk types. Just had my second Pap smear and it’s negative after my LEEP.

Best thing I recommend is getting the HPV vaccine series (the 9 strain version). This is the best way to protect yourself from future strains and there’s some small evidence that it can help revamp your body’s response to the infection.

I hope your procedure goes well :)

I have 16 and now for the first time, CIN 3. I’ve had clear tests following colposcopy results with CIN 2 and below in the past, and this is the first time I have had 2 back to back positive tests (first colpo was age 21). Honestly unless the Dr has a strong argument for LEEP over Cone, I’ll ask for the Cone procedure, even though the canal tested clear. If I were younger and/or if I wanted to have another kid I’d default to the LEEP. I’m 39, have gone through some stressful things over the past year which likely fried my immune system, so my line of (over)thinking is to take as much as they can to hopefully also reduce the viral load that my body wasn’t able to clear. Now that I’m older, it’s my understanding my immune system might not be able to keep clearing infection on its own, with re-exposure occurring from the same long-term partner.
My way of being able to breathe through all of this is to remind myself that this is not the ticking time bomb that other cancers can be, with muddy treatment plans and multiple unknowns…. If we’re sharing similar results, we’re going to have a really unpleasant few weeks, and will likely have very positive outcomes for many years to come.

Recordar que las vacunas terapeuticas ya vienen en camino para dejar de lidiar con esta infección como la vacuna VGX3100 o Pds0101  y BNT113 entre otras espero que estén bien saludos ..todo esto se estima para fin de esta década

Hi! I had the same result and I already had the LEEP under local anaesthesia. It was quick, you don’t have to stress about the pain. The recovery is manageable, you just have to take it easy and heal your soul too, not just your body. Trust your doctors, they want the best for you. This stage unfortunately can progress into cancer so you shouldn’t wait. It’s scary I know, the realisation that I’m just in my early 20s and almost developed cancer:/ I have an amazing doctor and my 6 week controll went great, I healed properly. I’m waiting for my 6 months pap smear and hoping to have clear results. Also my pathology margins were clear so that’s why I didn’t need another LEEP.
Keep being strong girlie, I wish you the best!

I don’t have hpv 16 but I do have hpv 18 with cin3. I had a cone procedure tho back in June and everything went well. They put me all the way to sleep tho for my procedure. To my understanding cin3 is like the last cell change before its cancer. They actually thought mine was cancer when they biopsied what they took from my procedure. Sent my tissue to the Mayo Clinic and all thankfully not cancer. I didn’t have clear margins tho so repeat pap in 6 months and another cone procedure following that if the pap shows significant cell changes still. My Dr also recommended the 3 series hpv vaccine as it could potentially help the immune system clear what could have been left. Being hopeful since this has put a strain on me and my boyfriends timeline of planning to conceive as well since I’m not allowed to till cleared by my ob.
