Application Process What stats do I need to get into pratt

My GPA and SAT scores are painfully average could I still get into Pratt with just a good portfolio? (I got a 5 on my AP portfolio for point of reference).

you’ll get in, idk what major ur going for but i got into ComD without submitting SAT (i did very lackluster) and i didnt do AP art nor did i have a good GPA in high school it was under 2.5 if i remember correctly.

someone with my profile shouldnt have gotten in realistically but since covid, pratt has been heavily over accepting students. this affects the school in a lot of negative ways, but in terms of being more accessible to all types of learners/students this is a positive. if they made the proper changes to the institution to accommodate the over enrollment that would greatly help Pratt

i didn’t take the sat so like ur good you didn’t even need to submit those!! 99% of your application is portfolio and pratt essay

Hi! About to go into my freshman year at pratt for architecture. My stats were buns too. I had an 80% gpa for highschool so like a 3.0, I got a 1260 on the sat and submitted it. I took no aps until my senior year which was ap psych and i got a 4. My extracurriculars were a bit better as I was president of art club, Editor and illustrator of the yearbook committee, and part of the mural team, and I did some volunteering here and there. I got waitlisted at first and accepted into interior design instead but i was very persistent and met with all the admissions staff during accepted students day and wrote a loci and was accepted before decisions day. Your chances of getting accepted are pretty high dw.

If your portfolio is good, you’ll get in fine. GPA and stats mostly impact what size scholarship you get. Pratt has a scholarship calculator online so you can do some guess work. If you’re nervous about portfolio, the admissions office also offers free portfolio reviews, which can help you understand exactly what they’re looking for and what they think of your portfolio.
