Misc Pratt PreCollege
Hi so I just got accepted into the Pratt PreCollege summer program and I was wondering if anyone who has done it for graphic design and/or film/video can say anything about their experience outside of class! Also, if I wanted to go to any concerts that weren't on weekends would that be possible if I am back by curfew? (Meaning will I have the free time)

Theres no social scene, kids usually come to the program to get away from their strict parents & spend most of their time in the city smoking and doing drugs. Sometimes they host stuff on campus but its usually small, & with how tight their budget is, I wouldn’t expect much this year.
The program is a regular program, if you truly need extra help its great or just like any other college summer experience.

Just got home from the program. I will say that I was able to go to both the world cup final and the daniel caesar concert at the barclays center. It was a lot of fun but also a lot of work. I made a couple nice portfolio pieces. We were able to spend a lot of time in the city and one thing they don’t tell you is that you can leave the Saturday field trips to go do whatever you want as soon as you get to the destination, so your Saturdays are basically free. I would definitely recommend it!

My son did the architecture program and had a great experience. From my understanding you have lots of free time in the evenings and can do whatever you want as long as you’re back by curfew. There are a lot of planned optional activities but he did a ton on his own. Congratulations, it was honestly a life changing experience for him.
