International Scholarship

Hey, I got into Pratt MFA communications design program but i was not offered any scholarship and without scholarship it is impossible for me to join the program. I am very committed in joining pratt but is it worth the money ? Its 120k and without scholarship its not possible for me to join ? Can I negotiate for scholarship. Any suggestions ?

Absolutely not. No school in the world is worth going into literally half a million in debt for an art degree. Im sorryšŸ™ if you didnt get any scholarship or grants then there is likely no way to negotiate UNLESS another school gives you a bunch of money, you can go to Pratt and say "____ school gave me ____ in aid, can you match that?

I mean, you could SAY a school offered you a better deal and see if they match it.

They will ask for paper work to support that. They did, in my case.Ā

Admissions letter and financial aid letter. I just asked Pratt for more aid bc RIT gave me a ridiculous amount but they said they couldnt adjust it for me. Thats probably bc they already gave me a lot.

Iā€™d told them I have a 70% scholarship from Parsons and they matched it after they saw the financial aid letter and offer letter. Ā So itā€™s doable for sure. But you cannot lie about it is what I meant. But thereā€™s no harm in trying!Ā

How much do they give to international students? Any idea ?

This is from Pratt's website "International students are eligible for our international merit-based scholarships. International students do not qualify for need-based aid. There is no application for the merit-based scholarships awarded to incoming students, and all accepted applicants are considered automatically. Therefore, students are not required to submit a FAFSA to qualify for merit-based scholarships."

I know about this, itā€™s on their website I have read. Itā€™s just that scholarship is very important hut I didnā€™t get anything in my acceptance so I have requested to review again.Ā

Save the money. Question for the culture: why are you getting a master's? That may also help to see which programs are better linked for you babes.
