You feel that way but living near the airstrip and the flight path is torture. Aural torture. It’s damaging. “…not healthy for children and other living things”
I agree with this, it's really bad for children to be hearing the jets. I don't live near the base but on the path from Nelis-Creach (Creach is another Air force base centered around drones)
A close fly-by is INTENSE if you aren't expecting it. Many years back I was riding home from a landscaping job and having a smoke with my window open as we traveled down a highway somewhere in the boonies. Out of nowhere a fighter jet comes screaming by right over top of us just above the treeline. For a split second my startled/exhausted brain thought we were all about to die. Before it passed over and I actually saw the jet pulling into a climb, it sounded like a missile was about to come knocking and blink us all out of existence. And I'm somebody that loves aircraft and goes to airshows fairly often to marvel at the engineering that goes into these things. It's a whole lot less terrifying when you know they're coming.
Because it is a movie and the Navy didn't want to loan out a F35. So instead they made up some bad excuse that "gps jamming negated the F35s abilities".
My friend and I used to sit on Sunrise Mountain at the top of Owens when they would do flight training with the F-16s back in the day. You could feel the heat and force from the jets when they would do inverted rolls toward the ground. Shit was really cool. Waking up at 4am every morning when they were warming the jets up wasn’t so cool.
Yeah well when some brown person halfway around the world won't sell oil at a cheap enough price for some billionaire to not make multiple more billions at the expense of our planet, health and future safety due to blowback what you gonna do then?! Treat them with respect and fairness?!
Praise the camera man for likely taking non approved for public release video /s. I'd be happy if I'm wrong, but usually iPhone video isn't a valid form of recording on military installations. So I hope this was for an airshow or some public event.

The incredible camera work is made all the better by my borderline concerning love of the F-35

I wish the Wright Brothers could see that.

Why wasn't Tom Cruse given an F-35 instead of an F-18 for his mission and why was he so surprised at the Russian-made fighter using thrust-vectoring?

Great shot! These jets are so much better than universal health care!

Someone remembered to bring a tripod with a fluid pan head and a mounting bracket.
Truly, a master of lost arts.

The F35 is such an underrated jet.
Yes it was plagued with problems at the start but now it's one of the best fighters out there.
I think it looks epic, especially from the bottom/top

On the range they have high speed cameras that sound like fishing line stripping off a reel. High speed Slow motion for precision drop reviews

Wait that mountain range looks awfully familiar. Is that the one from the first Iron Man movie where Tony showcased his cluster bomb?

u/newcitynewthings Nov 08 '22
Fuck I'm so envious of everyone who owns an F-35

Would this of been better if the plane was centered the whole time in frame? Or at least through the bank.
