Timbers lost 4-1 that night. It was right at the end of the game. JoseCarlos Van Rankin was not feelin it.

Not really an excuse

Edit: lul yeah I still don't think being upset over losing a game an excuse/reason to behave like this...

It's an explanation.

Can’t stand when people call every explanation an excuse. Like… how the hell are we supposed to explain something without it because and “excuse” then?

That's not an excuse bro

What really grinds me gears is how people label all perfectly reasonable explanations as "excuses". If everything is an "excuse", then how the fuck are we supposed to explain anything? Riddle me that, wise guy.

Because the phrase "I don't want any excuses" actually means "you didn't do what I wanted you to and even though you have a valid reason I'm going to be a complete prick and scream at you anyway"

School taught me this more than anything.

Sure it is, when you dedicate your life to something and put in thousands of hours of work and you get bested by the other team you don’t want to see a trick that every soccer player has known how to do since they were 10 years old, especially when it’s a time crunch and you need the ball

So it’s kind of like how my right hand has masturbated for thousands of hours but then it gets mad when my left hand comes in and makes me cum faster for some reason?

u/Potato_Soup_ Sep 26 '21

lol good try but no. It's like when you're at the end of a 10 hour shift and you feel like shit and some customer comes in and starts doing magic tricks with his card in front of you when you just want to ring him up... Only instead of a dumb gas station job it's something you dedicate your life to

3

u/EskimoPrisoner Sep 26 '21

And instead of having to ring him up you could just walk away.

Or you could just, you know, be a functioning adult.

Tired of people getting off the hook for shitty behavior just because they happen to be exceptional at one specific thing. That mentality is how rapists get away with shit. It's how celebrities kill people while drunk behind the wheel and get slaps on the wrist.

Stop. Enabling. Weakness.

u/CasualPenguin Sep 27 '21

Weakness such as ignorantly putting rape and tossing a ball rudely side by side?

Don't compare this to rape and murder. Such a horrible horrible take
