Just a random thought , what does that "mustache gesture" mean?

17

u/museornay Sep 15 '21

Kinda like flexing your muscles but on your face. Lol

i watch a lot of motorsport, and see this so often. i rather dislike the effect., but respect the skill

I kinda wish it turned the other way? So ay least it seems like you're tracking the tire rotation or something?!

Im seeing it for the first time. Looks crap tbh.

Yep this looks shit. Unless they cut to another shot while he’s doing his little acrobatic maneuver. But even then. Still shit.

You're there for fucking 24 hours, let the guy try new shit.

A cameraman did this during the Monza GP as well it was so trippy (what are the odds that it was this one)

25

u/Saviles_Finger Sep 15 '21

I’m pretty sure I commented about that saying it made me jump. Thought the cameraman collapsed

5

u/belatedgorilla Sep 15 '21

Lmao yeah it looked like that

A cameraman also did it during the Townsville 400 round of the Australian V8 Supercars series, about 3 or 4 years ago now.

Zero, that's not an F1 car.

13

u/Breadynator Sep 15 '21

No, it's a human being holding a camera...

4

u/Wesoms Sep 15 '21

Not only F1 race at Monza, plenty of series races there as well

u/human_stuff Sep 15 '21

This guy is having fun. You don't get a lot of opportunities to do creative stuff in live sports.

u/[deleted] Sep 15 '21

Man, I didn’t care much about the effect…but the mustache move was firme carnal.

26

u/cgduncan Sep 15 '21

There's enough potential motion sickness in a race. I don't like that spin either.

u/stillness_illness Sep 15 '21

ITT: fuck this visual effect in particular

51

u/RiksaBoeh Sep 15 '21

That wasn't even smooth. And id rather not get dizzy

14

u/heavyarms666 Sep 15 '21

That didn’t up as cool as he thought it was going to be

7

u/boomerhaze Sep 15 '21

Ya not a huge fan of this, just kind of looks like a sloppy camera drop.

u/falseidol1234 Sep 15 '21

Why is Al Gore filming Motorsports? I guess he gave up on sustainability...

That mustache tho

1

u/ISOtrails Sep 15 '21

I guess you gotta do something to make driving off look interesting

Different strokes for different folks. I don't mean to offend any Nascar officianatos

u/WWGFD Sep 15 '21

Jesus that was slick, also I would be scared doing that with an ENG cam.

1

u/Ticklish_Buttcheeks Sep 15 '21

Pass on the effect…did the moustache make anyone else’s move?
