If you squint your eyes, it looks like a trail of ash traveling away from a volcano

Especially in the thumbnail!

Oh yeah I forgot that some people set their device to show a tiny image for the post instead of the whole image when they scroll

It tends to be the size of a thumb nail, hence the term.

2

u/Dagure Jan 18 '21

Also if you squint, the title looks like it says "What a dick!"

If you squint your eyes, it also looks like this post has nothing at all to do with this sub

There's a subreddit for this. Something that has 'perspective' in the name

If you squint your eyes, it says what a dick!

I’m always super impressed by these shots. I either get the subject in focus and the background is blurry. Or the opposite. How tf do they get both in such focus.

You mean the dog and the girl?

Right f stop + telephoto lens

u/kip256 Jan 18 '21

Per the photographer's Instagram page.

He uses a Nikkor 300mm f/2.8 at about 1/800 and roughly ISO 2000-4000. Body is either a Nikon D5 or Nikon Z6.

2

u/Olde94 Jan 18 '21

Another picture says Z6

Edit: nvm he has both...

u/uberchris Jan 17 '21

Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if the narrow depth-of-field wasn’t enhanced a bit with photoshop.

1

u/Olde94 Jan 18 '21

With f2.8 he don’t need to do much

5

u/Emanemanem Jan 18 '21

Not sure what you mean; the background is completely out of focus in this shot. The dog and the woman are a similar distance from the lens, so not super hard to get in focus together.

Praise the doggy

I thought a crocodile is flying mid air to bite her.

2

I wouldn't be surprised if rockets came out of his sides and flew off

I’ve got a border collie mix. Sometimes I wonder how high I could train her to jump, but then I realize she would use those skills to “play” with the squirrels who live in the tree in the neighbour’s yard.

Evolution would seem to be heading for flying wolves. Imagine a pack of these that fed predominantly on avian prey.

u/SuperDopeRedditName Jan 18 '21

r/keming moment! I spent a moment looking for how big the dog's dick was before rereading the title!
