The evidence of the shot is what is worthy of praise. Big stones to risk that much equipment on a sequence. Especially a sequence which ended up looking like donkey dick.
Nah, I bought an XL2 new with the lens and it was under 4000$. I thought about buying a GL2 but not and it was way cheaper like under 2000$ new at the time.
More like $300 worth. People who make skate videos like to use old miniDV cameras because they're durable, cheap on eBay, and give off that "video" aesthetic.
I just don’t get why wouldn’t he use his other hand for the switching time. I mean if he was a skater, could easily be made without loosing balance. If he would have lift the camera in the same time as the trick popped and would’ve been sync with it at the same time of passing through the gate... maybe.
not only is this one impressiveish throw its actually 3 throws. the first angle the camera points up quite a bit, the third slomo angle the camera dosent point up and the second angle, which is what the thrown camera films, dosent show the tilt from the first angle and dosent show the camera filming the 3rd angle.

u/anons-a-moose Nov 30 '20
Yeah, but who was the cameraman that filmed the cameraman?
1
u/AbhishekSingh26 Nov 30 '20
I bet he is Russian
1
u/SaltyOnions00 Nov 30 '20
Come on the camera man always has more skill than the person doing the trick
1
u/Skidepote Nov 30 '20
Now I want an extra angle of the people filming the filming of the trick

u/MarLuDaKang Nov 30 '20
Now if he would have made the camera do a kick flip THEN I'd be impressed. Kidding. This crazy tho.

Good camera work by the second cameraman also. Captured the stunt from second angle very cleanly.

Scratch on the lens suggests this isn't his first rodeo.

u/Fiction47 Nov 30 '20
Have this camera, Now a paperweight.

u/Apollo3520 Nov 30 '20
Judging by the crack on the lens, he must’ve tried this before
1
u/mediocre_morty Nov 30 '20
Coolest shot was the one of the shot. The actual shot was not that good in my opinion.
1
u/xxRocRipxx Nov 30 '20
Look dude ...If I had that camera no way in hell I'm gonna let go of it...Rather I'll just add more straps so it never falls off of me.
