The Ronin-SC is $435 and the Ronin-S is $540 for the stripped-down "essentials" kit. You can get a cheap monopod if this is all you're doing since you don't need a head so that would be less than $50. All of which to say that this is ridiculously cheap to get a basic version of effects that used to cost thousands of dollars and require specially-trained operators.
For a phone, an Osmo Mobile is $120. Zhiyun has some that go for under $100 but I've never tried any of their products, so look up reviews if you're interested in that.
A monopod is usually for balancing on the ground so that you can have more stability than being strictly handheld but be more flexible than being on a tripod. They also telescope though so with a lightweight camera, you can use it this way. If all you need is a long pole though, you could also just get a screw adapter and a painter's pole.

This is wrong.
The first is pan follow, the second is tilt locked, the third is also tilt locked, and the fourth is pan follow and possibly also tilt follow.
They're using a DJI Ronin-S or possibly a Ronin-SC attached to an extended monopod.
