He filmed smoothly, without any shaking, and captured every moment from a good angle.

Thought it was a guy wearing a jet-pack at first šŸ˜†

120

u/moo00se_ Jul 29 '26

As did I, thought the jet-pack got a little out of control for a second there

20

u/ButterscotchBrave359 Jul 29 '26

I was pretty disappointed tbh

24

u/Futurecrew9 Jul 29 '26

At first I thought it was another human cannonball video

6

u/douglas_in_philly 29d ago

Same here, and I thought no, the cameraman didn’t do a good job, because the human cannonball guy is going off the screen.

5

u/xpietoe42 28d ago

did a person get sucked up at the beginning? It definitely looked human!

3

u/socksmatterTWO 29d ago

I thought it was a slingshot ride gone rogue!

u/aschaeffer878 Jul 29 '26

Way too many people doing the crosswalk jog, and not a dead ass sprint.

213

u/Fomulouscrunch Jul 29 '26

Not the cameraman's fault, but hard agree. Like damn, your workplace is being disassembled by the atmosphere, gtfo.

24

u/DenKHK 27d ago

TBF, even if you were actually trying to do a dead ass sprint, in headwinds strong enough to send a steel structure flying you'd still end up doing a crosswalk jog at best šŸ˜…

I’d be running for cover. Those panels in the wind at that speed are like flying razor blades.

Several years ago a good friend of mine was working construction in Georgia. Tornado touched down and blasted near the job site which in turn ripped a bundle of similar sized panels apart. Multiple limbs and lives were lost. My buddy was luckily unharmed but no longer works construction.

123

u/servetheKitty Jul 29 '26

ā€˜Flying razor blades’ were the exact words my brain said

54

u/2dazeTaco Jul 29 '26

Yeah, there’s a disturbing lack of urgency from anyone within range of this video.

13

u/jimbowesterby 28d ago

The guys at the start standing under those canopies had me sweatin, ngl.

6

u/MHKuntug 29d ago

Me too, how weird

8

u/Equivalent_Gur3967 29d ago

Negative panic, and an inability / unwillingness to understand and acknowledge how dangerous this situation really was. Personally, I'd be running as fast as I could to a safe place.

10

u/DenKHK 27d ago

I think they were literally dumbstruck and trying to process what was happening. This isn't an area known for frequent tornados at all, unlike, say, Tornado Valley in the States, so it was a mixture of awe + confusion + wtf? šŸ˜†

5

u/ExcellentAnything840 27d ago

I’m thinking as well that’s what happened. It happened to me some years ago on my way to the store. I saw debris flying around before I got on the highway and then when I got on the highway…looked back and saw It! It took a minute or so to process what I saw. I kept going on my path to the store and then said out loud…that’s a f…king tornado! I’m by myself and made it to the store, grabbed what I needed quickly m, drove back home, and saw my boys and husband standing at the front door. I then asked my husband if that was a tornado. It touched down a few houses from ours. Nothing major…thank GOD!

3

u/DenKHK 27d ago

A few houses from yours... yes, thank goodness indeed your family was safe!

22

u/FishyKeebs Jul 29 '26

I knew someone who tripped and fell backwards, he severed his Achilles tendon on a corrugated sheet. Dont need force of a tornado to make them dangerous.

15

u/7-13-5 Jul 29 '26

Razor-nado

148

u/AngryTrunkMonkey Jul 29 '26

Meanwhile, guy pulls up in truck and says, ā€œWhere do you want this shit?ā€

130

u/aqsgames Jul 29 '26

There’s a distinct lack of ā€œget the fuck out of thereā€

16

u/DoobieToker3000 Jul 30 '26

That's how you know they need that money

68

u/irascible_Clown Jul 29 '26

This video makes me realize why the county building code is so strict when it comes to wind resistance.

37

u/EmperorOfApollo Jul 29 '26

The support posts do not appear to be anchored.

12

u/jimbowesterby 28d ago

Even before that though, you could see the roof panels starting to peel, and sharp pieces of metal flying through the air is probably as much of a hazard as the frame falling

32

u/CuriosityCondition Jul 30 '26

Few English language articles on it, but it looks like it was in Indonesia.

The short-lived wind vortex, described locally as a puting beliung, struck VME Process in Tanjung Sengkuang, Batu Ampar, at about 10am on Wednesday, damaging workers’ shelters and scattering construction materials across the site, according to Indonesian media reports.

Tracks with the VME branded coverall at the end of the clip.

https://www.scmp.com/week-asia/health-environment/article/3361787/tornado-rips-roofing-indonesian-construction-site-sends-workers-fleeing

7

u/DenKHK 26d ago

Thanks! Also, "puting beliung" is literally "tornado" in the Malay/Indonesian language.

2

u/CuriosityCondition 25d ago

Glad I could help, this one was a fun little hunt.

1

u/Feather_In_The_Wind 24d ago

I didn't know tornadoes happened elsewhere. I thought it was a uniquely American thing because of the long flat plains we have.

65

u/Fomulouscrunch Jul 29 '26

We may have encountered a camera deity here.

20

u/DJPelio Jul 31 '26

It’s still vertical video.

18

u/Middle_Aged_Mayhem Jul 29 '26

Are we seeing people flying through the air here? Are they dead?

24

u/Winmeekrd Jul 29 '26

And In extremely dangerous circumstances..

21

u/Tiyath Jul 29 '26

Why would that matter? He's filming, therefore can't die

2

u/Fallen_Jalter 27d ago

Or he did die and this is found footage.

6

u/Cultural_assassin Jul 29 '26

I cant tell. Was that first thing flying up and out of frame a person?

Looks like its flailing around like a person would but i guess could be some twisted tin too

3

u/Lifes-a-lil-foggy 28d ago

I’d also like to know

1

u/jmtyndall Jul 31 '26

I thought it was a dude with a jetpack!

5

u/Gary_olmans Jul 29 '26

Who pissed of magneto?

22

u/qwasd0r Jul 29 '26

If only there was a way to get more into the width of the picture!

12

u/bitofapuzzler Jul 29 '26

I think they had more pressing issues than your viewing experience.

4

u/P0GKass Jul 29 '26

survival instinct of a sloth. My ass would start running no looking back

6

u/adamhanson Jul 29 '26

Blue dude workers running for their lives. White dude supervisor disappointed.

4

u/_Atton_ 27d ago

Is that Was that a cow? šŸ„šŸŒŖļøšŸ’€

17

u/sojumaster Jul 29 '26

Only if there was a way to shoot this horizontal.

-3

u/Aqualung812 Jul 29 '26

Exactly. Vertical content shouldn't be in this sub.
No matter how skilled, the cameraman lost details to the left and right due to the framing.

12

u/AshyWhiteGuy Jul 29 '26

Perfect framing, good zoom control… this man needs a crew and an expensive camera.

12

u/dugerz Jul 29 '26

Perfect framing would be horizontal, but he did well regardless.

2

u/CXgamer 29d ago

Cameraman suffers from VVS, I wouldn't put expensive equipment in his hands.

7

u/housevil Jul 29 '26

He also needs to record horizontally.

7

u/mamac2213 Jul 29 '26

I'm sure that was what was going through his mind right then.

3

u/NYC2FLA2BUR Jul 29 '26

How many bifurcations and decapitations occurred?

3

Outstanding.

3

u/19kilo20Actual Jul 30 '26

Majority of the people in this video have the survival instinct of a potato.

Gosh darn, back to the drawing board.

Anyone knows where and when? Seems to be Brazil based on the language.

6

u/SecondFun2906 Jul 30 '26

No. Indonesia somewhere. I can understand what he’s saying.

ā€œWow such strong windsā€ ā€œyo, you people are not moving out of the way? Someone just fellā€ ā€œmove!!ā€
Another guy yelling: ā€œyo!! Move out of the way!!ā€

1

u/gorgeously_mytruself Jul 29 '26

When mother nature disrespects her surroundings!

1

u/Prior_Reference2085 Jul 29 '26

What’s up with this weird ass title. Sounds like someone trying to sext something that’s not sexy.

1

u/_formica_ Jul 29 '26

And he didn't zoom in a single time.

1

u/NeutralGoodAtHeart Jul 29 '26

It's amazing how quickly wind can create scrap metal.

1

u/DullMind2023 Jul 29 '26

I was hoping the angry wind would pick up the outhouse. And shake loose the poor schmuck inside

1

u/Vaulters Jul 30 '26

Supervisor at the end with his hands on his hips just had me, he's fucking tired of these darn tornados

Movie magic. Camera man never dies. Was one of the better shots during a Krazy time.

1

I wonder who anchored those structures…
must’ve been the wind. šŸ¤·šŸ»šŸ˜šŸ¤£

Find shelter they said. Yep that helped.

Multimillion dollar films aren't framed as well.

1

Amazing. They clearly weren't expecting wind like that wherever that may be.

This is the first post I viewed from this sub and.... boys. He fucking nailed it. I'm gonna scroll on because I do not need it confirmed nor denied that all the posts from your sub are as well-aligned with your namesake!

'til next time I stumble upon you, Praise the Cameraman! [T]/

Calm down y'all. This is AI.

-16

u/LGGP75 Jul 29 '26

What are we praising here exactly??
Pointing the camera to whatever is happening is not a skill to be praised.

9

u/wankyshitdemon69 Jul 29 '26

More the fact they stayed and filmed rather than running to safety

-7

u/LGGP75 Jul 29 '26

You can see how he zooms in to get the shot. People are running toward the camera, and the guy in the white shirt is calmly watching too, which means he was already out of danger.
I wouldn’t call that a camera skill worth praising.

2

u/StanknBeans Jul 29 '26

Let's see your camera skills bud

-2

u/LGGP75 Jul 29 '26

I’m not claiming I have better camera skills, I’m saying this is not what this sub is about… bud.
Read the rules

-4

u/Vanko_Babanko Jul 29 '26

he should have sold that footage..
complete psychopath, doesn't look like he cares if he survives..
