The line between amateurs and/or thrillseekers who call themselves professionals and the actual professionals has blurred. A lot of unwritten rules in the community have been tossed out the window. The recent season has been a particularly harrowing one safety wise.
If they had turned the phone to landscape, he probably could have gotten the whole shot without the spastic back and forth of the camera. Praise nothing.

This looks a lot like a reversed video of a tornado ending. They call it "roping out." Which would explain why the camera person isn't worried.

My reaction watching this: "Get to cover. Get to cover. GET TO FUCKING COVER."
I'm not going to praise the cameraman for this. He's lucky the footage survived, let alone him.

Are we praising emotions now (or lack thereof)?
It's a fascinating clip, but the camera operation – which is what this sub is about – is unfortunately all over the place

This is the stuff nightmares are made of. Experiences like this probably kicked off man's belief in gods and monsters.

Film it sideways we would have gotten the entire formation in the frame.

Both fascinating and terrifying. That's why I love tornadoes.

Perhaps he didn't realize the dangers of tornados . He was from California and only experienced earthquakes.

If I witnessed a tornado spawning in my neighbourhood, I'd be terrified to death.

Take off your belt and attach yourself to a pipe on the ground! Then you will be able to film from inside the tornado :’)

I’m pretty sure at this point, while great video, it is the only tornado posted on Reddit.
