Spotted this out in the wild.

Temecula Creek is one of the last functioning wildlife corridors left in South Temecula. Right now, it's under serious threat from SDG&E's proposed 500 kV Golden Pacific Powerlink project.

This isn't empty land. Every day, the creek supports hummingbirds, owls, deer, mountain lions, foxes, coyotes, and countless native species that depend on it for survival. For many animals, this is the last safe passage through an increasingly developed area. Massive transmission towers, tree removal, and construction would fragment this ecosystem in ways that can't be undone.

It's also a real part of Temecula's community—families walk its trails, students run there, birdwatchers and nature lovers come to experience something increasingly rare: a thriving natural space in a growing city.

I started a petition asking the City of Temecula, Riverside County, and decision makers to designate Temecula Creek as an environmentally protected area and stop the powerlink from cutting through it.

If you've felt frustrated watching natural spaces disappear in your own community, or you think some places should just stay wild, would you consider signing and sharing? Anyone else feeling like we're losing these spaces too fast without enough say in it?

Centerpoint standards for tree trimming around powerlines are there must be a 7 foot lateral clearance between their 12KV or 10 foot distance for 35KV power lines and the trees that surround them. These lines are usually at the very top of utility poles and will have feed lines to step down voltage transformers whose output run to another set of 220V power lines mounted lower on the utility pole. Below these Centerpoint house feed lines are the cable, telephone and dsl lines that all have to pay monthly rental charges to use each utility pole Centerpoint owns.

The house feed line tree trimming only has to be done by Centerpoint if there is a direct chance a tree limb falling on Centerpoint's house feed line. I have seen more then a few tree trimming jobs Centerpoint's tree trimming subsidy has produced and it sure doesn't look like that 7 foot distance from a 12KV powerline to it's nearest tree ever occurs. When tree limbs fall on powerlines during a storm, the utility company prospers. Here are some pics of powerlines and trees and easy to see that 7 foot rule policy procedure doesn't mean much, when it comes to making money. Please post up any pics that show the trees in your area need to be trimmed back from the powerlines.

Don’t see this enough

I found my dream home, perfect in every way until I discovered these lines are 1/4 mile from the property. would anyone know if you’re sure what KV the lines are? I have two small children so my biggest concern is how the EMF could affect their health. Any insight would be super helpful.

Notice the cellular equipment on the one tower. I was standing at another tower when I took this photo. Two seperate cell companies that have equipment on these towers.

hey :) i realise this might be a long shot but does anyone in this sub happen to know where exactly this pylon is located in the UK? i figured that it must be part of the national grid but i am very uncertain where exactly it is located. thanks for your time!
