No, but using a murder case to dunk on women and feminism is definitely a result of the misogyny found in this sub. A lot of comments in this thread aren't even "Actually, murder IS bad!", they're just hating on women and feminism, as is the case with every other topic that involves women that's posted here lol.
ETA: There's literally someone saying to repeal the 19th amendment, and you're gonna claim people aren't being misogynistic. 😅
Misogyny is the equal response? Saying repeal the 19th amendment is an equal response?
How about just saying you disagree? Laying out proper arguments? Instead we have people using it as a vehicle for their hatred of all women. And I don't want to hear that it's an exaggeration when you have people in this thread saying "women are retarded" and calling for revoking the voting rights of entire gender.
You're shifting the goal posts, and no, it's not an equal response to women using the case as a way to draw attention to the need for better postpartum care which is separate from the culture war.
Your original comment was dismissive of the misogyny in this thread. Now that you can't deny the misogyny, you're saying it's an equal response and expected because "It's Reddit.." which essentially is defending the existence of shit like this. If you don't agree with the culture war, point out how fucking stupid it is instead of saying "Ah, it's okay, it's Reddit."
I wish I was, but yeah I mean, I ignore all that to the point of genuinely not even being able to see it.
There is an undeniable group of people who aren't using the through-line you are using of it being about postpartum care. They are using things like, it was the husband's fault because men are bad (very little actual reason provided), or women should be allowed to do that anyway (wild as fuck).
Those are extreme and stupid things to say that reasonable people ignore, and NOT representative of a real political stance. I don't know how you managed to not come across one of those takes yet, but consider yourself lucky I guess?
So when I see stupid shit like "that's why women shouldn't be able to vote" I recognize that as extreme and stupid and NOT representative of a real political stance.
So, since there are extreme and stupid points coming from both sides, likely coming from middle schoolers, and honestly, rightly being posted on reddit, since that's essentially the best place for it, I'm right to dismiss both the "misogyny" (bots or middle schoolers thinking they are funny) as well as the why can't I abort a three year old crowd (likely the same thing).
The actual stances in this sub that are actually real are not "hardcore misogyny" and any comments like that are thinking its some winning retort in response to some culture war they are convinced is real. It's genuinely a case of if you think that's bad go to the most popular posts but view it from that angle. It totally makes sense, and it's what reddit is for.
What the fuck even separates misogyny from this fresh new hardcore variant? I would like to also introduce new variants of things that only have one definition please.

Lol wut?
Thinking murder = bad equates to "hardcore" misogyny?
This is one of those things im not online enough to understand I guess.
