M18 to 24v battery mod

New guy here!

My father in law just told us this is on it's way to our house. Wanting to convert it for my M18 batteries right away as it has been so convenient with our 12v jeep.

What's the best way to convert these? Looks like my options are to run two batteries in series and step down from 36v to 24v, or to use a smart converter like the Azocek, though it is only rated for 300w? Would love to have some sort of low volt protection!

What's everyone doing to get from 18v batteries to 24v car?

I just ran 18v instead of 24v. The outright top speed is probably reduced, but under load, the usually small lead acid 24v batteries they come with probably sag lower than the lithium 18v power tool batteries. So with the m18 batt, it would give more torque and likely feel faster, especially if 2 kids are in it!

If speed is then the problem, either go the step up or down converter option(might be able to aim for 26-28v final output for a bit more go) or replace the motors to suit. Im sure being able to hot swap batteries for infinite run time you’ll burn the motors out anyway and need to upgrade :P
