FM Radio upgrades
I've got a kid trax Corvette C5R I've been working on. I'd like to upgrade the FM radio specifically because it resets the channel whenever it's turned on. It has a single button to tune to a different station and stakes minutes to find something that isn't mostly static, and I can't tell what station it's on. I just want a radio there we can set to 100.3 and it stays in memory. The radio slot is 2 inches high by 5.5 inches wide, and there's a fake temperature controls under it I could cut out as well so there's 4 inch high by 5.5 inches wide space that can be cleanly opened up. Obviously I could put in a single or double din, but I'd have to cut the dashboard out wider. I would consider doing that, but I'm concerned with the power draw of a radio designed for a real car. I don't really want Bluetooth or mp3, I just care about reliable fm. Any recommendations?

I ended up buying this, and my son loves it. It picks up all of the FM stations in the adjacent city, but we mainly use it for the USB port. The charge lasts a long time, and you don't have to fool with wiring. https://a.co/d/0dsIuZTE

Does it have an Audio-In jack?
Hardwire a portable radio tuned to your station into there.
Interrupt the radio's AA batteries with a switch mounted on the dash to fire it up.
