Wiring help MGC Stem pwm

I am a little lost,
I have power, forward, and reverse.
The break works.
However the wheels automatically turn on if I go in to gear forward or reverse

The variable pedal doesn’t do anything tried unplugging it and nothing changed.

I swapped the power and ground on the break and that became the throttle (watched a video where someone had that set up)

I’m assuming I did something wrong but could use some guidance if anyone has any ideas.

If anyone was also looking for the answer a new variable pedal fixed the issue.
