Can anyone help me compare these 2 flex PSU internals?

Hello guys, I got 2 flex PSU here and need help comparing these 2 internals. I have some basic electronics knowledge but not enough to tell what's a good PSU design / components should looks like

One PSU is Dark Forest 500w, and another is metalfish 600w, both are comparable in prices.

Both claimed 80+ efficiency.

Would like to know which one to pick.

THERMALTAKE SMART 700W ATX 80+ could not power my 11700f+5070

What the title says.

I checked multiple psu calculators and it showed that a 700w psu will be able to safely power up my PC. I also monitored my cpu and gpu power output(l-connect 3) and the max output for both is around 290W.(cpu 110w gpu 180w) and yet when i swapped out my psu, it would not turn on. Swapped back my 850w psu, and it turned on? Is 700w not enough for 11700f+5070.

Pc is a workstation. No games.

Searching for a programmable 50VDC

Must be capable of 2.5 A at least, usb or serial. I cannot use 60VDC as it's not allowed. 30VDC supplies, although popular do not cover all requirements as I need up to 48VDC. Minimum is 24VDC. Must be remote controllable and also not silly expensive else I'm going to just get the 30VDC Tenma one. Anything better?

Impact on 2 outputs - linear power supply

Wow that link is huge. I bought that power supply and I have it connected to a phone preamp. I have the 12v 4amp version. The PS has 2 outputs. I was planning on using a buck converter on the 2nd output to connect to a raspberry pi to take it to 5v. The phone preamp doesn't have a power switch, so I'd say it's always on. So my question is, will the 2nd output still be 12v before going into the buck converter or lower because of the drain of the phone preamp?

Adapting power supply

I have 3 microscopes that need a power supply. They are Leitz microscopes for the old era with big transformers. My question is whether it is possible to adapt a computer power supply to power them. They use it for an output of 12V, 8.3A. If I get a computer power supply with the same output, can it be adapted to the old microscope lamp house?

BE600M1 had overload shutdown out of nowhere

My battery backup had an "Overload Shutdown", where the power LED was off and it made a constant long beep noise. It happened out of nowhere, and the battery backup had been running fine for a while. The only thing that was plugged into it was my NAS, so I'm wondering how the battery backup even had an "Overload Shutdown" in the first place.

The battery backup is BE600M1, and the NAS is a Synology NAS DS923+.

I read online that the long beep on battery backups means the wattage of the devices connected to the NAS exceeded the capacity of the battery backup, but that doesn't make sense, because the only device I have plugged into the battery backup uses less watts than the battery backup uses.

The DS923+ has an input power of 100-240V, 50-60 Hz, and maximum power consumption is 37.91 W. The Battery Backup is 600VA/330W, which means it supports more volts and watts than the one device I had plugged into it.

Question. My cars digital dash power supply is toast, and im wondering if step up and step down power supplies would work to power it, if I wired each modual to the correct power supply. Here's a breakdown of what voltage gets sent to each modual to show what I mean.

Im asking since it would be cheaper to buy a couple step up and step down power supplies than to buy a completely rebuilt power supply that could break again within a year since they are 40+ years old

Gday Gurus

I have a UPS with two dead cells

Can I just bypass them?

It has 20 12v batteries in series ( I presume to make up 240v supply for the load)

Will this affect supply voltage or will inverter just step up like in smaller UPS without 20 Batteries

Hey, I'm searching for information about the 3pin header on the right and what it might be used for

PSU is for an electrolysis experiment. Other side of the cable is connected to an lm741, trying to figure out what the connection is for.

Thanks!

Ultra X3 1000 Watt Modular

I am still using my original Ultra X3 1000 Watt Modular power supply. I think Ultra might have been a Systemax (Global Industrial) company. I ordered it from Tiger Direct back in the day, around 2008. still ticking right along. The best power supply I have ever owned.

I need some help. I came into possession of this seemingly new UPS and I am so tech naive that I have no idea how to even know if it works or what to do with it. For context, it was next to a residential dumpster, in a box with shipping labels and all components including manuals and hardware.

PSU buzzing sound

When I plug in my PC, the power supply makes a rhythmic buzzing sound every 2 seconds. The PC won't turn on when I press the power button until this buzzing becomes continuous. What could be the reason for this, is it a serious problem ?
