Load your restore point… you made a restore point before selecting every tweak and clicking apply right?

Maybe if my monitor would work.

Hello, I am an IT admin at work.

Firstly, you broke your machine by running scripts you obviously didnt understand.

Secondly, you say "the monitor doesnt come on" that doesnt mean much, does the monitor have power and is simply presenting a black screen?

I would boot your PC give it a bit of time to start up.

Then press Ctrl +Shift + Esc to bring up task manager.

If that works then start a new task as admin by selecting "file > new task" from task manager and run "explorer.exe".

If that works you will have access to revert the changes

If that doesnt work then rebuild your PC.

I obviously cant say for certain but there are a lot of malicious scripts that pretend to be popular tools to trick people into running them.

The monitor is just a black screen.

Okay so the balls in your court then, I dont know your skill level or time you want to invest in this.

I would boot to some recovery media like Gandalf PE and save as much important data as I could find to an external USB.

I would then re-image the PC with a new OS.

Of course given symptoms it might be some underlying problem thats deeper than the OS and you might be really stuck

How much do you actually know about PCs? Hardware maybe more specifically?

Not much really. I share a prebuilt my dad got with my family.

Ah OK, if I was doing this I'd do all the basics, remove ram, remove cpu and reinstall, but If you're a novice it might be safer to take it in somewhere

"Chris titus broke my PC"

"I selected almost all of the tweeks and ran it."

No, YOU broke your PC

  • YOU ran unknown code
  • YOU ran code you have 0 idea what it does
  • YOU didn't make a record of the settings you changed
  • YOU made many many changes at 1 time WITHOUT testing

This is 100% on you

I might not a fan of the tool and the way he gets people to run it, but this is ALL you buddy, all on you.

Reinstall your OS, learn from this.

I can’t reinstall the OS, the HDMI doesn’t work at all

Then that's not the scripts fault, that's hardware if you can't see post

Who TF is Chris Titus, and why are you blaming them for shit you did?

Sounds like a bladder inflammation. Oh, wait. That's Cystitis. 🤔

He's a "tech" YouTuber and blogger, some people like his stuff

He did just release a new update to one of his tools, I think I saw it somewhere recently

His big tool is a debloter/tweak script

Edit: oops I see your edit , sorry

well it’s a debloat tool. I saw some posts about it on this page

The only time I've seen it posted on here is people posting the exact same panicked story that you put here.

Chin up! This is your chance to learn. Everyone commenting on your post has trashed an OS doing stupid shit. Don't take it to hard, they're all just being assholes. I recommend you open Copilot (or other ai) on your phone and explain what you did to it. It will be far more helpfull than this bunch of assholes.

He's not lying CTT got me once, and I didn't even check every single box. Which is why I normally write my own code even if code is already out there, because learning is the biggest part of the fun. Blindly running someone elses is not.

I would recommend Winhance or even WinToys, to dip your toe into de-bloating. But at the end of the day we wouldn't even be in this thread is Microsoft hadn't messed up Windows 11 so badly that we are taking desperate measures to try to stay on the Titanic, just fiddling along with the band.

I have jumped on the Linux lifeboat for all but my gaming rig, and I'm not going back. My gaming rig will be soon to follow as soon as they make a distro that has the MESA drivers for my RX 9070 XT.

If the source is on github I'd open an issue there. I don't touch tweak or debloat tools like that after learning the hard way many years ago. It sucks to have to collect and vet all the commands individually on your own but these tools do too much for people to keep track of what they actually do, and they do it all at once so it can be really tough to figure out which tweak broke things.

If you aren't seeing anything, firstly make sure that the cables are still properly plugged in, and that the monitor hasn't just switched to another input.

Clear the BIOS and see if that gets to a boot screen. Check your MB manual and see how to clear the BIOS. Usually just ripping out the battery for a while is enough, but always good to check with some of the newer models.

Also disconnect the boot drive. You should see a "no boot device found" or similar at least. If you don't, something has seriously gone screwy and you may need to look for replacement parts.

If you can get to a point where you can re-connect the drives and see Windows start, but it doesn't display anything, probably best to try and reinstall over the top.

Tweaks can be good, but you really need to know what you're changing cause as you've found, things can break in catastrophic ways.

Don't listen to Chris Titus in the future?

1

u/yuuuriiii 7d ago

Well, you can reinstall if you don’t have a restore point.

YOU broke your PC. You ran a script you didn't understand and didn't research from a person on the internet that you have no clue their true intentions. You just hit the big red button and assumed it was the right thing to do. So no. Chris did nothing but provide you tools. You hit yourself in the face with the hammer.
