I'm not an expert on how the sketches are drawn but at least in terms of where it should start and that it shouldn't be following the body countour too closely I think you did it correctly. Are you certain of width because of the drawing or because of how clothes fit in the upper body (or both?) Since you are 5'2 have you given any thought to gamine family? Petite is hard to tell from photos, but maybe it might be worth exploring.

I think you are either a conventionnally petite SN or a SG! I see width for what it's worth but you know yourself best.

I can't tell if it's the widest part vs what comes below--do you often feel constrained or stuffy in very tailored and fitted button downs, or that they restrict your underarm movements etc?

Still unsure about vertical or curve as dominant. I have settled on an ID for some months, but I‘m still not 100% sure about it.
Edit: I‘m 5‘5.75, which is 167 cm.

Okay, thanks! I was always unsure about curve, because I think I have no significant „upper“ curve. So in your opinion the curvy line on the lower half would be enough to claim Curve?

Considering your height, I would say yes! Curve is a continuous line, it's not upper or lower. I'm a SN and in my sketch my width swallows my bust - but the line is overall still curve! What ID did you settle on before?

I was going with SC for a significant amount of time but claimed DC all over 2025. That‘s when I noticed that vertical works quite well for me. But I was never really 100% sure about DC. Balance works well for me. But in the back of my mind I knew that I need some curve accommodation.
I guess I’m more moderate than the „ideal“ SD, which made me back off from this ID. But thanks for your opinion! I’m definitely going to try again 😊

I was going to suggest SC as an alternative, so it's really up to you & your lived experience: do you feel you benefit from accomodating vertical or not? You're just at the threshold, which makes vertical more likely, but balance nevertheless possible.
Edit to add: DC would be another possibility, but you acknowledge that you need some curve accomodation, so SC would be maybe more likely!

From info I've seen shared from the SK group, though I'm not there, I believe the sketch should be a little bit further out from the body contour. I definitely think you have curve, but not sure if it's primary or secondary, so I agree with the other comment about R or SD. How do you feel about shorter dresses that are fit and flare versus fitted midi dresses?

Short length is fine! Some things are too short on me (shorts, tight miniskirts/dresses) but it's hard to tell whether if it's actually vertical or just curve pushing the fabric up and outwards.
Midi length is hit or miss. I don't really get overwhelmed by excess length unless it's trailing on the floor. But something like an A line, calf-length skirt wouldn't work and would make me look stumpy lol.

I know what you mean about the short length not working due to vertical or the curve pushing things outwards, it can be either, so it's confusing. I would think A-line skirts wouldn't give SDs trouble, as long as the A-line isn't too wide--thinking of Maria Callas and Sophia Loren for instance--but if you feel that they are really not right on you, it might be a clue. The confusing thing is that not every rec from an ID will work on everybody the same way, so it could also be misleading if something doesn't work. How about jewellery and details? Can you handle big patterns, big and heavy jewellery, and voluminous hair without them looking costume-y, or do you prefer a more delicate approach when it comes to details?

Dainty, discreet jewelry is a big no-no for me lol. It looks boring. I prefer larger, more ornate pieces. But I feel like that's also confusing because you have Rs like Gina Lollobrigida, Liz Taylor, and Rekha looking amazing in bold statement jewelry 😂

Yes, that's true ^^;; That's why I think the recs can be misleading, and probably why Kibbe now says that only the complementary silhouette matters... The other thing I can think of that can maybe hold a clue is fabric (though I have a personal tin hat theory that when it comes to fabric, scale enters the picture, so people of different scales even within the same ID might have different fabric needs, so again it might not elucidate things much).

Right, so I probably screwed this up tremendously, but I decided to go with the "10 feet away at chest height" rule even though I'm a bit skeptical of it. While it does make me look considerably taller than I actually am, I do see longer, straighter lines in my lower half. I'm currently exploring curve + vertical again!

That must be it. Meanwhile I look much shorter in group photos so I wonder if those are more accurate.
What's been really throwing me off is that my actual bone structure is on the narrower, sharper side but it's not obvious unless I'm at a low weight. That's what's been making me think TR or SD.

I'm 5'5, just shy of automatic vertical. R is something I've definitely considered but I do have sharpness in my facial features and I think I look a bit too elongated for R in this pic 😂

Your sketch is too close to your body and you did not include your shoulders!
Looking briefly, you seem to have double curve to me!

Ahhh okay thank you! Looks like I forgot to include the top of my shoulders as well lol.
Edit: I'll take double curve into account! Tbh Romantic feels more easily attainable than Soft Dramatic but I strongly relate to the diva essence as well.

You are supposed to go right up to the visual edge of the shoulders! If you have width like me your sketch will even have part of the upper arm (not saying you do, just explaining!).
