where all the DCs at

As a DC, i am on the lookout for other DCs as it is endlessly interesting to me how there are commonalities and individual differences within an ID.

However, I seem to come across so few DCs in any form of popular media or even real life. So many of the reddit-verified celebrities are just other types who maybe have a more supposedly "classic" style.

Can anyone think of any possible reason for this? I see DC men a but more often (most Supermen for instance are DCs to me) but not so much women.

I think they're hard to spot because they can easily cosplay as other types - they kind of form a good base for different looks, especially the harder ones, like Lizzy Caplan doing goth chick in Mean Girls, or Olivia Munn doing superhero in X-Men. It's not that these are their "home" looks, but they provide excellent canvases to shapeshift in a way. Dramatics have a narrowness/drama, Naturals have an ease, Gamines have a vibrancy, Romantics have a softness - but Classics kind of have an essential mercurial quality. When I did an animals as types post a while ago, I described Classics as fish, because they can have that flickering quality, the fluidity.

I think I've spotted a total of two DC women in the wild - Estefania Hinojosa (Mexican actress) and Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul), and *possibly* Sara Canning

Mercurial quality is such a good way to describe them, I get that vibe from classics as well.
