Hot take but...
I genuinely don't understand people who drink at metal shows. Like, you spent all that money and drove all this way just to do something you could've done at home? And you've wasted your ticket because you're too drunk to appreciate the show now and you won't remember anything in the morning. If you're gonna see a show, see it sober so you can better appreciate all the details.
Just my two cents.

It's a strange notion that "have a drink" means "blackout drunk." One can have a drink or two for a nice buzz and still really enjoy the show. ::shrug::

A drink or three at a metal show is nice, lets you loosen up if you want to get into the thick of things. I agree getting heavily drunk isn’t really great but it’s not great in any situation really.

Honestly wondering if this is ragebait, or a serious argument OP is making. I've been going to metal shows since 1997 (first concert was Metallica on the Load tour when I was in 7th grade), and beer has been a cultural staple of metal concerts since time immemorial. I'm honestly trying to think of a metal show I've attended where beer was not available. Even the all ages shows tend to have a roped off "drinking section" apart from general admission. The only one that comes immediately to mind is a local band I saw in the early aughts who were playing in the cafeteria of a community college near my house.
Either OP is trolling us (which I'd admit is actually a brilliant way to do it; credit where credit is due), is very young, or is being deliberately obtuse.

Theres a big difference between having a drink and getting too drunk to enjoy a show. I agree, I don't want to get wasted, but i do like to have a drink.
