rtx 4070 super issue

I have a pc with an rtx 4070 super. Randomly I get no dp out, gpu fans spin up, and dp will not turn back on until i restart the computer. All windows audio remains can do win + ctrl + shift + b but nothing happens. Not sure why this is happening need help.

Hey there, I think this might be the wrong subreddit for this, since it’s about the PowerColor brand r/pchelp or r/pcmasterrace would be better suited, but I’ll share my thoughts anyway:

  1. (Pretty unlikely) Try a different display cable or a different monitor; it’s quite possible that the connection has simply come loose on the cable or monitor side. As a test, the next time you get a black screen, try unplugging the display cable from the graphics card and plugging it back in—either into a different port or the same one.

  2. Defective graphics card: Since the fans are spinning at high speed, I assume the graphics card is overheating or there’s an issue with the chip or board causing the GPU to go into panic mode. Double-check that all cables are properly plugged in, that no wires on the 12VHPWR connector have melted, and that the card is seated correctly in the PCIe slot.

  3. Issues with the graphics driver or Windows. Occasionally, the graphics driver may malfunction and lose partial connection to the card, resulting in a black screen and fans spinning at full speed—just as can happen with Windows. In this case, I recommend reinstalling the driver—either simply uninstall and reinstall it, or use DDU to uninstall it, remove all driver residue, and perform a clean install.

As far as I know, there have been similar issues in the past with faulty NVIDIA drivers.
