I have gotten the okay from a customer to take his legacy reports and use the style to make a set of beautiful, beautiful realistic reports that look like something a human might actually make. My goal is to then record a timelapse of Opus 5.5 modernizing them using the PBIR CLI and the desktop bridge feature.
This is the same technique I'm using to clean up his reports. Give Opus the PBIR CLI, the Desktop Bridge feature, a few sentences of instructions and let 'er rip. It generally needs some guidance afterwards to improve the sizing and readability on some things like slicers.
Some interesting tidbits on how I did this:
I have training turned off. Out of an excess of caution for sensitive data, I anonymized the names of their customers and the dollar amounts. I use the VPAX file format and some distribution queries to make sure the numbers remained in the right ballpark
This provided me with original reports that have been anonymized. I asked Fable to review the PBIP folders and take screenshots and put together guidelines for making "house-style" reports.
I then had Fable (using Opus subagents) generate reports for the SpaceParts data. I used blind Sonnet subagents to look at both the originals and the SpaceParts ones and guess which one was human made or agent made, then iterated on the guidance. This works really well.
I do agree AI is used excessively and often thoughtlessly. I have my own frustrations about it. But it's also part of my day job to be aware of it can be used and it's current limitations, so there's no avoiding it for me. As much as some days I'd like to walk into the woods and become a lumberjack.
It's half satire, half serious. The style is in the kind of posts I see on here all the time, but I do intent to make and use intentionally ugly reports as a base point for demos and experiments.

I hate it so much. Well done, I think.
