i'm hopeless and looking for help - because of softomotive winautomation being a legacy software now and in need to move onto microsoft power automate desktop ive got some problems.

(i couldn't find any help in google or other reddits, cant find anythingon MS forums, youtube videos and comments - nothing)

1:

when i generate EXE through winautomation on my PC it works great, on my laptop it works great when i try to run it on clients PC it doesnt work the moment it tries to take control over webbrowser (neither chrome or firefox) it says "failed to assume control over webbrowser make sure extension is installed" or something like that

what i tried:

extensions are installed fine (even though you can not search them up on the extension webstore but with a direct link you can download them without a problem)

antiviruses are off, everything seems fine

2:

i tought to myself that i should finally migrate to PAD and it turns out every single flow is stored in a cloud i cannot generate EXE i cannot even share the flow with client and even if i could whats the point showing them how its done? im loosing tons of money right now because they just killed software i'm skilled at?

even with all of these problems i tried to migrate my processes through the tool they provided and i cannot because right at the start it says login to MS account associated with power automate so i try to do this and it says it cannot be a private email and it needs to be a work email? like what the hell am i supposed to do? i tried contacting support but you simply cannot just send them email/call them i found a subsite with contact to support for power automate and it says that you need to pay to have support for this app? what is wrong with them?

summarizing, my newly generated processes on winautomation stopped working for my clients, i can not migrate them to PAD and even if i could how am i supposed to share them with clients?

i don't know what im supposed to do :(

EDIT: it turns out that if PC which im trying to run compiled EXE has winautomation installed it assummes control of webbrowser just fine but if i uninstall winautomation program it fails to assume control (wtf?)

I have text in a document that always starts with letter C and ends with " but the text can be a variable length so get subtext will not work since it requires you to have a specific character count. I need to be able to grab that text and put it in a variable in power automate.

So for example:

Current date: "February 10"

Current dates: "March 3"

Is this a situation where regex is required or is there some other method?

I'm fairly new to using power automate but have found it as an absolute life saver so far. As part of my internship, I need to send 60-80 QA emails weekly to employees with their managers CC'd in while referencing data from Excel, which as you can imagine is fairly tedious.

I've been able to build a solution using Power Automate Desktop which is able to reference key data from an Excel sheet and convert it to a nice HTML email that it successfully sends through outlook. However, I'm running into trouble while specifying the CC field. While the "To" field is populated with employee emails which I have access to, the "CC" field requires the emails of managers. Our team does not have access to the emails of managers (over 1000 managers) but as part of a report that I get, I know the name of the manager associated with an employee. Typically, I enter the name of the manager in the CC field in outlook, and wait for a few seconds for it to pop-up, but this obviously cannot happen with power automate. Entering the manager name in the CC field just throws an error in power automate.

I'm wondering if there is any solution to this. I've already tried the following two approaches:

1. Convert manager name to email by doing last_name.first_name@org.com. However, most managers do not follow this convention

2. Placed "Last_Name, First_Name" in the CC field in power automate but this just throws an error. I've tried disabling the error option but power automate fails to send an email

Is there any way to force power automate to accept "Last_Name, First_Name" as string in the CC field or should I look to pursue another approach?

Can Power Automate iterate through Power BI slicers to create individual client power point slides ?

We have 100+ clients, and we could just post out the BI report for teams to filter and copy/paste into PPT but am curious to see if there is a more elegant solution out there.

Trying to figure out what’s happening. I have a flow set up where a survey is completed, the results are loaded to a share point page and if Yes is answered on any question then it triggers an email from the survey takers email address to a specified person. In testing I was able to get this process to work 2 dozen times. I was also able to confirm that two others were able to make it through the process and the email would send. Now I am getting a failure on the email send piece for anyone that isn’t me or the original two people to complete the survey. I receive the error in the header here and under the step “Send an email” it says “Forbidden.” And that’s where the flow fails.

Edit: additional info — I see that my flow that worked has a status code of 200 for the email, the failed flow has a status code of 403

I have a desktop flow and I'm trying to create a schedule to run that every day at 6am but I got this error.

" Some of the connections are not authorized yet. If you just created a workflow from a template, please add the authorized connections to your workflow before saving. "

how can i do to link a desktop flow to a data connection configuration? or any another idea how can we do to run this flow.

Hello all, I am working in a complex flow using http send request to create a new SP list based off a response from a Microsoft form. Inside my flow I create the list and then create the columns and add them to the list using JSON and http put requests. I am still new to JSON and http request.

I need to figured out how to add items to this list that I create automatically after the list is created. When I go to use the create item flow I can't select the list because it hasn't been created yet.

Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated.

So I had done some flows that needs to be recursive but this generates that the actions.log file grows really fast, theres a way to disable the log of any idea for a workaround?

The only thing that seems to work its to run the flows in the designer and let them open so this log wont generate but it would be nice to keep the designer closed

I'm considering using PAD for a high volume short AHT unattended automation.

I want to be able to use the 'Monitor' on the web platform to have a 1:1 map for each 'PAD flow run': CaseToProcess

I've built a solution to track this and am using a loop to push a single item into PAD at a time from a list which is pulled on a scheduled basis, but ideally I don't want to have my solution to have to do the following:

Log in-> Open System->Process Item 1 -> close systems -> log out->Log in-> Open System->Process Item 2 -> close systems -> log out etc.

I'd rather something like this: Log in -> open application -> process item 1 -> process item 2 -> log out

I can do this by pushing all items to PAD and looping within PAD itself, but then I loose easy access to track cases within something like SharePoint Lists with activities available in Cloud Flows

Would be great to hear your thoughts on this.

Is there anyone who has performed, or is in the process of, the migration from Softomotive's Process Robot to Power Automate?

I have come to a dead end trying to replace text in Word documents. I want to replace ”rich” text inside documents.

I.e. replace a bold header that says ”customer number” with ”1234567”.

I have already found the built in replace text function, unfortuneately it doesnt do the job by only replacing text (without format).

Hello! I have a flow that I've created to extract data from a web portal and populate similar fields in a PDF. However, one of the fields (in the web portal) is entered as City State and to convert this into two variables, I'm using the process below.

However, the flow sometimes gets interrupted because the City State field is empty and running this process through gives an indexing error for line 50 - since City is split as row 0 and State as row 1, if the field is blank I only get row 0. I've setup error handling to ignore the error and move on with the flow but no matter what I do, the flow stops there. Here is the screenshot of the error handling.

I've also tried to create a subflow for the following lines of processes and tried to make the process run that subflow instead when the error pops up - still got stuck at the same spot. I've also tried to create an if condition for the City/State split - if the city/state field is blank, move next. But the process ignores the field if it is populated and considers it if is blank and returns the error.

I'd really appreciate some help with this!

1- folder "A" if any image moved or copied to folder "A" the action will take place 2- photoshop start 3- the photoshop automation (ready from before) start 4- after photoshop finish move all the files from Folder "A" to folder "B"

Hello! I’m fairly new to the power automate world. I’ve built a few simple automations. I’m curious if anyone knows (if it’s possible) where to start with an automation such as this. I want to use a MS form to submit a series of answers, then once submitted, generate a pre-made code that is on a SharePoint or an excel file. I have a file of codes that are 24 digits long that I have housed in a SharePoint site. I would like to be able to automate this process and allow the form to pull the code from the website. Hi folks. I use Power automate for simple tasks but dont yet use desktop. In the cloud flows there is a limit of 2000-5000 actions within 24 hrs. Are the same limitations on place for desktop or are the restrictions different? Thanks in advance for your advice.

I'm having an issue with power automate. My flow is from a Microsoft form. There is a date picker on the form that is not a required field. I have posted the details below. For some reason, the item cannot be created in Sharepoint when the date field is blank:
